I love this place. So much history and knowing my parents and grandparents have been coming here for so many years and it still looks the same. Went to the saltshaker concert was a blast haven't danced that much since my sons wedding.

Delightful slip back in time! Fabulous dance floor! Fun experience. Love toonie Tuesday - $2 admission to the family dance followed by Olde Thyme Music followed by local talent, then a country rock band offers diversity and fun for the whole family for a very affordable night out.

While staying at Manitou Beach resort we went looking around and found this dance hall that has the distinction of being built entirely out of wood with a horse tail feathers in the floor that add greatly to its “bounce” so a couple can dance the night away and not get sore so easily, or so said the woman we spoke with upon entering the building, it is made up inside very much like you would expect a dance hall to be like ....from the 60’s....I don’t say that in a bad way, it’s very much a museum piece to an era that we should try to hang onto, they still have dances here and on Tuesdays they have a dine and dance deal. Sadly though with the water level rising they have had to build a berm around it because in 2007 one end of the dance hall was actually in water and they have added to that berm.....my fear is that without a long term solution the water will keep rising and the dance hall and surrounding buildings will be lost forever, if you are interested in an original dance hall you must go see this one.

My father-in-law’s band had played on the stage here, and he and my mother- in-law danced there quite a few times. I would love to be able to check out this dance floor! The staff was setting up for wedding at the time we were there, so not much chance.

Wow going here took me back many years to the old dance hall in Winnipeg Beach and the one in Killarney. We had a great time but I remember that it was very expensive... The band was ok and everyone seemed to enjoy them. A fun night if you have money and are close to here

We had attended New Years Eve dances there for 5 years in a row, but had not been there for several years. This year was our 55th ANNIVERSARY and we decided to go back to Danceland on August 17/18 , the date of our anniversary. There was a not a regular band, but the makeup band was great. They knew ahead of time that we were going to be there and learned a special song for us and played it just for us to dance to. How GREAT that was ! The Staff was great, one person taking pictures of us and sending them to us on her phone. The band members and many of the people attending all gave us their best wishes. What a great evening to remember and treasure. Thank you so much Millie and Staff.

Attended a business symposium in Manitou for the weekend and was very fortunate to attend a dance on Saturday evening. The music was excellent. Would go back again.

This is a MUST experience place - it is magical! The Dance Floor was amazing - IT is a professional dance floor without a doubt. If ever you are a dance enthusiast you have to make the trek to Danceland and fall in love with it. This is a very responsibly restored and maintained centre! The floor, of course, is usually accompanied by terrific musicians to make your feet move! The history of this place is epic, but the current day is just as great an experience for ALL ages.... it is truly a Must see destination.... before you leave this good earth your feet must touch upon this floor. The owners are dedicated.. the food and beverage service is generous and tasty - The acoustics and sound management is stellar and it supports the notion of dancing to the rhythm of the floor! PLEASE Dance there - See the website Danceland.ca for the events and dances - We were not disappointed. The magic of the floor and the sound of the music will make you want to keep this place alive!

This is a very unique place to visit and experience. Millie Strueby, the owner, is happy to let you wander around the establishment at your leisure, if the doors are open. We happened by at 10:30 in the morning, and she was there. She was happy to talk with us about the history of Danceland, and share her dreams of keeping the place going.
make sure you check out the photos of the floor. The dance floor floats on 6" of horse tail hair, so it gives a bit as you dance around the floor. The floor itself is tongue-and-grove maple boards, constructed without any nails.
We were disappointed to not be there for her "Toonie Tuesdays" dance the night before, and were not staying to be there for her weekend dances. Nor did we get the opportunity to taste the food produced in her kitchen. Another time.

We are coming to Manitou Lake to attend a dance at Danceland July 21, 2015. The Positive Electrons are playing and they are friends of ours. We understand there will be a supper available to purchase for ~$15 before the dance.
