For history lovers, this attraction is the site of one of the earliest permanent buildings in the wilderness.

The Hazel patch marker, indicates the point in which John Floyd, Benjamin Logan and others departed from Daniel Boone and instead pursued the Skagg's Trace. This marker in known as the famous fork in the road and cannot be missed alongside the express way . If ever given the opportunity and are in the vicinity , one should definitely view it.

This marker marks the famous 'fork in the road' where Daniel Boone and company proceeded north to Boonesborough along Boone Trace in 1775, and John Floyd and Benjamin Logan followed Hazel Patch Creek and Skagg's Trace to the west. It is very easy to locate on Hwy 490 as you pass Patton on left travelling south. My team found this marker very interesting and it is a must see location on the Daniel Boone Trace for its historical significance.
