There are a modest amount of local items, reflective of the past century development of small town, agricultural middle America. The nearby mighty Ohio River, is modestly represented. We learned that there are special displays, with members & friends of the Historical Society, contributing items of interest, for a period. We need to get more information, & schedule, of special events.

I don't get back to Hardinsburg often, but when I do I try to see what's been added to the museum. On this trip, the museum has moved to a new location in a roomier house and a garage in back. Here, you can find many artifacts of Hardinsburg and Breckinridge County dating back to nearly 200 years. This is one of my favorite places to come, not because I'm a life-long member of the Society, but because I know many of the many dedicated members of the museum that make it successful.
