The hands on experience was so cool. I would highly recommend this experience. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. We drove a golf cart around since we were time restricted.

My 11 year old daughter and I spent an afternoon here. We were there from 1:15-5, which was plenty of time to do every without rushing. However we could have easily spent the entire day 9-5 going to each exhibit repeatedly. The staff were incredibly friendly and engaging. They were patient and would answer every question with a smile on their faces! The animals are very friendly, you could tell that much love and kindness are given to them by the staff. The bathrooms were clean, the cafe was reasonably priced and tasty, and the gift shop was not overwhelming! Lastly, we absolutely loved being able to rent a golf cart to drive the beautiful grounds! We will definitely return bringing family and friends!

AMAZING EXPERIENCE. My family enjoyed interacting with the kangaroos. That was definitely a surreal experience. All of them are friendly so no worries. Touring the cave was fun too. Definitely rent the golf cart otherwise it is ALOT of walking.

Great little zoo. Absolutely loved getting to pet and feed the kangaroos! The man working the area of the kangaroos on Tues Sept 19 was so friendly and informative, I could have talked to him all day.

Petting the kangaroos, emus, and tortoises was so fun. The sheep herding demo and animal show were interesting and the man who did the show made it obvious he loves all the animals which is so awesome.

Fun family trip. Golf carts are rented out to everyone which causes crowding. It is a nice walk. Carts should be limited to the handicapped. Animal displays could use some upgrades. The cave tour was fantastic but needs to have a limit on the number of people per tour. Ours was >75 people and it was too crowded.

We brought our daughter and two grandchildren for their first trip to KY Down Under. The boys, 5 and 1, were mesmerized as much as their mother. We fed the kangaroos, goats, donkeys and birds. I’d suggest getting a Groupon and renting a golf cart. (The golf cart is well worth the extra expense). We didn’t realize that a Groupon does not include tax so that was added after we got there. The gift shop is really nice and is not overly expensive. There are many activities that are wonderful for kids of all ages.

To be fair, we were only able to be at the zoo for an hour , as we came at the end of the day. Still, we were very excited to see the end of an animal show, pet some kangaroos, feed the lorikeets and talk with one of the birds in the bird area. We chose doing these things over going on the cave tour, but we would do that next time. I would suggest getting one of the golf carts, as there is a decent amount of walking up and down some inclines.
Everyone was very nice and respectful of the animals.
Definitely worth a visit, and we got a great deal on tickets at Groupon.

Beautiful, relaxing atmosphere. Definitely rent a golf cart. The kangaroos are the sweetest! You can feed them and they are so gentle. The animals are all beautiful. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable. They said the cave was not too bad but take caution- it was slippery, steep and we witnessed a lady fall and hit her head. It is short but I would not do it again. Overall a lovely trip.

We enjoyed this little gem very much. Our favorite part was getting to roam freely and feed the kangaroos and emus. If you have not been, you definitely want to go. I have two teens (16 year old boy and 14 year old girl) and they also had a great time. We would definitely go again if we are in the area.

Are there benches scattered around in the Adventure Zoo, for us elderly to sit and rest a while?

I am not sure about the benches, I dont remember having to look for a place to sit down. They do rent golf carts, I think they cost around $35.

Hello!
Do you allow pets? We have a small Toy Poodle (she weighs 6 lbs). We would carry her at all times.

We allow friendly dogs on leashes into the park.
Do they have koalas?
We do not have koalas because they depend on a special diet of eucalyptus leaves. I believe there are only about 15 zoos in the country that have koalas. We wish that we had them.
Can you bring a small cooler in?
