A true treasure to have restored for public use. The easy hike shows the view of the entire city. Go on a pretty day and enjoy!

A really nice walk across - very safe, lots of people around and there is music right in the middle of the bridge which was a nice surprise. Great view! And I, of course as a Brit over from the UK, did the cheesy 'now I'm in Kentucky, now I'm in Indiana!'

MUST SEE!! You can walk over this bridge and there is a nice park there. I went both during the day and at night. It's really pretty and you can get some pics of downtown Louisville in the distance. At night, it's lit up and very pretty. One of the best places I went in Louisville. Nice way to burn calories while seeing some pretty scenery and learning some history about the bridge.

Our first visit to Louisville in probably 25 years! It was a beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon with temps in the 50s when we arrived. First stop was the Big Four Bridge. Everything about it is terrific! Free parking. Great views. Good clean air. Plenty of space to accommodate the photographers, the strollers, the runners and bikers. It was nice to see friends, couples, and families taking advantage of the beautiful day! Across the day, we made three visits: early afternoon to acquaint ourselves with the site; late afternoon to walk the mile across the bridge, get coffee, and walk back; late evening to see the lights on the bridge and reflected in the water. Can't beat this attraction!

A beautiful everyone watching the lights change and the river was calm to the reflection was perfect. I want to walk this sometime at night.

This is second visit here. Love this place although I wish the bridge would've been lit up with multi colors. This visit it was only red. Beautiful place though. Definitely a must see.

Really nice place to get some sunset photos! It's quite a long way on and off, and not so easy to get to if you're walking from NuLu, but definitely worth the walk over for all the views.

What an amazing bridge to walk or ride across without worrying about getting run over by vehicles! It is big so lots of room, and mid way across there is music. The views are amazing! What a gem!

The Big Four Bridge offers a nice walking surface and some great views of city. Like visiting most large cities, it pays to be aware of your surroundings at all times. Don’t let your small children wander or leave your sight. With that said, if you’ve never explored here it’s worth the effort. Recommended.

Walking the Big Four Bridge is a perfect sightseeing activity if you like to walk, take pictures, and enjoy the views of the Louisville Skyline. We parked on the Indiana side, which was free parking and super easy. My husband and I walked across to the Kentucky side and visited Angel's Envy Distillery and Against the Grain Brewing. Then we walked back. It was quite a bit of walking, more so than I expected, but okay for us. We did this at about 5pm on a September Friday afternoon, and the afternoon sun was HOT, so, our trip would have been much more enjoyable if we had waited a couple hours. There were a lot more tourists walking the bridge on our way back around 7pm. Would have liked to have seen the bridge lit up at night but it wasn't lit up yet by the time we left at about 7:30pm.

Two questions— is it a safe area to walk after dark and if we park on Louisville side at 8:30 pm and don’t get back until after 11, will we be able to get our car out?

I parked my car at Indiana side. Visibility of cops are there even late at night.. Never tried Louisville side.
