Had a private charter (6 of us) on the Kinda with “Teeg”. It was fabulous - great way to end our visit. Was able to bring some adult beverages and snacks to enjoy, participate as the crew, and have input on trip. Reasonable price and easy directions.

The sunset cruise could not have been more informative, picturesque and relaxing. Karl was an excellent captain filling us in on the local sights and wildlife. He offered blankets when it started to get cool and took some great family pics of our special outing.
Sailing on the Alice was a highlight of our vacation.

Fun time chillaxing aboard Linda with Capn Karl and 1st Mate Ryan. They were knowledgeable and friendly as we discussed boats, the islands and wildlife. You’ll have a great time, even if weather conditions are not fully cooperative. They are prepared with blankets and you can bring refreshments!

If you ever get a chance to go out on the water with Carl at Acadia Sail- it will be something you won't forget quickly. He's an excellent captain, a great resource and alot of fun to be with. the day on the water showcases the Island in its most beautiful way. Cant wait to do it again

The reason for booking our sunset excursion on the Elizabeth T was bittersweet. We were spreading our grandfathers' ashes per his request. The Sail Acadia team was amazing from start to finish. The booking process was seamless, and they were very accommodating of our requests. Upon arrival, we left right on schedule and the boat comfortably fit our entire family plus coolers. The crew, Jonathan and Ryan, were excellent. They were extremely knowledgeable of the waters and area and were happy to answer our endless questions. They were respectful as we said goodbye and set the ashes afloat and then took us on a beautiful tour of the harbor to see some seals and enjoy the incredible sunset and rainbow that was shining. I could not have hoped for a better send off and my family and I are so grateful. I highly recommend this tour and company to anyone who wants to see the beauty of Acadia from the sea.

Wonderful time learning about lobster fishing, so beautiful and taking it from southwest harbor meant less traffic/more parking! Loved this.

Perfect evening sail. Carl was exceptionally friendly and happy to join in the conversations of all of us aboard. The boat (Alice E.) is comfortable and sails well despite being 124 years old- looks great for her age! The trip was three hours of fun! I highly recommend taking a sail with Carl. I loved it so much, I bought a t-shirt so I can advertise for Sail Acadia back in Minnesota!

Our family did both the sunset sail and the cruise on the Elizabeth T to learn about lobster fishing. It was a little cool being early June but both boats provided blankets and we dressed appropriately. The captain of the Elizabeth T demonstrated how to harvest lobsters and was very informative about lobster fishing in Maine. The scenery was beautiful and we saw seals and a porpoise in the bay. Karl was the captain of the sunset sail. It was a very enjoyable time and an opportunity to experience sailing in the beautiful surroundings. We brought along some food and refreshments and Karl helped my grandson sail the boat. He loved it! A great way to enjoy coastal Maine. A fun time.

We had a great sail with Carl. This was our second trip with Carl and Sail Acadia and it couldn't have been better. They have blankets for when its gets chilly on the water and Carl has an outstanding knowledge of the area. I can't recommend Sail Acadia and Carl enough. We look forward to sailing with them again on our next trip.

How rough of a ride can this become? Taking two older people who might not appreciate too much leaning from side to side.

I’m sorry I did not see this message sooner. The weather dictates the roughness of the sailing experience. We can not control the wind but we can make our sails smaller and keep the boat safe. We operate in protected waters as well so it is normally very comfortable. If it is too rough we cancel the trip. Our goal is to provide a relaxed sailing experience.

Yes, you need to make a reservation. I think had called them using the number at the bottom of the Sail Acadia website, but their email address is also listed there..

Hi and thank you for your inquiry,
We pride ourselves on being a small, intimate operation where we can get to know our guests by name. We only take out a maximum of 6 passengers per boat. If you had a larger party, we could try and accommodate by doing a tandem sail with both boats, up to 12 passengers. We also have a wooden lobster boat that does nature tours, and we can accommodate 21 passengers on that boat.
