took a tour through wompatuck and once again ended up on weir river farm. Saw the cows grazing in the fields, wonderful experience!

This is a great place to take young kids to visit a working farm where you can see cows, pigs, chickens etc. Great place to walk around and take in the views while educating the children.

Visited this location along with Whitney and Thayer Woods. Great spot to see the ocean from the top of Turkey hill. The paths connect to Whitney & Thayer and there is even a nice bike path between the two.

I visit Weir River Farm on a regular basis. I love the view from the top of the winding pathway that leads down to the farm. From there, you can see the farm, the ocean, and the skyline of Boston - it always reminds me why I love living in this area with the proximity of farms, the ocean, and the city. You can walk all the way down to the barn to see the animals - (Saturdays are open for children to pet the animals and learn about them). I usually make a left turn before the barn, walking across the field to the woods. From there you can take a couple of different paths - turn right and you'll meander down to the barnyard area. Turn left and you'll walk through a wooded area which will take you back up to the parking lot. It's a great place to go for a stroll and enjoy nature.

weir river farm is owned and maintained by the trustees of the reservations for the public ands its membership.The actual working farm is part of a large area which includes, not only a working farm, but also walking trails and turkey hill ,which offers a vista of Boston harbor and the whole Boston skyline. The livestock includes some banded cows that are sometimes moved to other trustee properties to graze. Even if they're out on a lunch date somewhere else there's lots for kids to do. Just seeing where eggs , milk and veggies come from is enough to warrant a visit . Check ahead for special events and activities. It's off route 228 in hingham next to the library,or can be accessed via the turkey hill parking lot also in hingham. Turkey hill is a bit of a steep grade so you may end up carrying your little hikers. Make sure you get to the top either from farm itself or the trail the view is stunning. Trustee membership is encouraged and allows free entrance to many of their properties.

Community farms are all the rage these days, but not often are they such a delight to visit. At Weir River Farm, atop a scenic hill from Route 228 in Hingham, a charming pastoral scene unfolds, with the main attraction being the banded galloway cows, which some call "Oreo cows." It's worth a visit to see why, and survey a bustling community farm in operation. The Farm is part of the Trustees of the Reservations system.

The trails here are my favorite running spot. It is such a great view from the top of the hill looking down over the cows and across to the Boston skyline. Nothing beats it!

We went for the first time to the Fall Festival, and were very glad we did. Plenty of animals to see and also wreath making, various crafts, pumpkins for sale as well as cider and local honey. Various artists displayed their wares as well - excellent.

Love going here. Just a nice spot and they grow their own veggies which you can buy. I also bought the beef when they slaughtered a cow. NOt so good. The cows graze free on the grass so I thought the beef would be more tender. It wasn't. I bought several cuts and ended up using all the cuts as stew beef. The hamburg was great.

We visited on a weekend with our two small children and it was lots of fun. There are pigs, horses, chicken, goat and sheep. You can get close to all of them and even pet them. The farm is very family friendly and set in a beautiful landscape. They did charge a $3 entree fee for adults and children over 3 but its worth it.
