We booked for a party of 12 people for our Staff Christmas meal at Docklow Pools.
Our team chose in advance from the menu, and everything was perfect on the night.
The feedback from all our Guests was what a lovely evening they had experienced.
The food was delicious, the Staff really professional and we had a room allocated just for our party of people. Although the main restaurant was really busy, the service we received felt personal and everything went so smoothly.
We would have no hesitation recommending booking a visit for great food, service and surroundings.

Another excellent stay at picturesque docklow pools Seems bigger and better than ever this year , with new pools to fish , but Jonathon and his team always give that personal touch , you just don’t get anywhere else. Excellent service in the restaurant and bar as usual and fabulous fishing this year Catfish to 38 pounds , carp to 24 and loads in between Just can’t fault the place at all . Brilliant holiday 👍😁

Just got back from a "far too short" 4 night break at Docklow Pools
Massive thanks to Jonathon for sorting our stay in recently fully refurbished Bluebell lodge. Fantastic accommodation in a great location backing on to the match pool.
Food and drink in the Fisherman's Arms was second to none, as per usual, with proper portions and decent cider on draught too.
All the staff were very friendly and hospitable, especially Laura who seems to organise everything immaculately. Nothing is too much trouble for this fantastic team.
Can't wait to return for a week in June.

We have been going to breakfast at Docklow for weeks. The breakfasts are exceptional but the service by Amy was amazing. She eventually didn't need us to order as she knew exactly what we wanted. Even when it was busy she made it look so easy. We will miss you Amy thank you for your service and good luck in the future.

Well I don't what I can add to previous reviews.
Just returned from third trip of the year to Docklow so it must suit us.
The weather has made a impact on the fishing but did enjoy the nice warm sun.
Big difference this year is another new lake and the amount of cutting back of vegetation to allow the sun through.
Last week was a cold for us to sit fishing so will not go this late in the season again but have already booked for next year.
Food and drink in Fishermans Arms was very good value and can be recommended.

First class fishing lakes well stocked quality fish and a good variety of lakes / pools However, there is a coldness and very underwhelming feel about the personnel who have little hospitality skills and border on rude especially in the very well stocked tackle shop. With the exception of one female staff member you were made to feel almost untrustworthy whilst browsing and making enquiries.
Fished a residents match and no staff were there to start or end the match ie: whistle or vocal. Payout was not explained so sums didn't seem to add up and although you pay upfront for all day tickets when staying in accommodation it appears you also pay a match entry fee ( yes.. it is all in the exstensive / excessive reams of rules you are sent when booking and repeated on arrival but I feel this is not a fair deal) This again makes you feel somewhat exploited. Everything seemed geared to profit with little effort towards customers having an enjoyable stay. The accommodation is clean and fairly modern with just enough amenities. Overall I and other guests felt very controlled and not really appreciated as customers more as an inconvenience and there only for the money we were contributing. Maybe a few courses in hospitality and customer care wouldn't go amiss. Shame really as it is a beautiful location with a great well laid out fishery.. if only the staff realised we were all paying guests and tried more to make you feel welcome and appreciated. Hence I can only offer 3 stars.

We went to Docklow Pools for the first time last week, what a great relaxing week we had, wonderful staff who couldn’t do enough for you and the food was great with big portions. My husband fished and caught loads well looked after and no kids. Highly recommend for a very relaxing holiday.

Wow what a fantastic place. We just had a week here & have to say it's so peaceful. Our lodge was warm & cosy very clean the lake & grounds are kept immaculate we took our dog & had lovely walks in the grounds. The fishing was excellent with plenty of room between the pegs great bar for a chill & a beer .the food in the restaurant is outstanding plus a great breakfast in the morning but have to say the staff made our holiday great friendly service & nothing to much trouble for them. Not forgetting the onside tackle shop that sold everything you will need for your fishing break. All in all couldn't fault Docklow pools & have booked again for June next year & can't wait lol

Aside from the memorable weeks fishing, five doubles on a feeder rod, the main reason we enjoy our annual trip to Docklows is the people. The staff and other guests are what make our time there, alongside the fabulous food in the Fisherman's Arms. My elderly uncle has had a rough couple of years and this holiday was a bit of a pick me up for him, so much so we've already booked for next year.

Docklow is such a great place for a fishing holiday. In fact even non fishermen & women would enjoy a relaxing break in the beautiful and peaceful farm. The on site pub The Fisherman’s Arms is full of character and the home cooked dinners (especially the desserts) will send you home a few lbs heavier!!
Docklow is family owned and run, the key team members are friendly, knowledgeable and extremely welcoming.
There is also a tackle shop on site, which is well stocked with everything you need... and everything you might but don't need too!!!
This was our 3rd stay and we plan on returning every year, my son and husband are keen fishermen so it's now a family annual holiday and so nice to spend a week together out of our busy working lives.

Hi, they sell Appleyard cider on draught, this is real cider not chemical cider like Strongbow.
If you enjoy cider you will enjoy Appleyard

Hi. I presume you mean 2020? However the best thing is to contact Docklow direct through their website or call them. They are very helpful, but you probably won't be able to book for next year just yet, unless it is for January.

Hi. I noticed in one description of the accommodation that there was an electric meter. Does that mean that you have to pay separately for electricity?

When we stayed everything was included commendation was clean and tidy we had a moan about the mattress that has changed straight away we are going back in May
Was pools open yesterday for fishing as I was told they where closed for irrigation and a match day

Match is only on the one lake except on rare occasions .All the other lakes were open not sure what this irrigation is about .I am staying the week and all lakes are open

hi. just wondering are the stretches on the river wye acessable with seatboxes or are u better with a chair,,, thanks

The banks are quite steep so you will need a chair. I managed to get comfortable by only extending the front legs and keeping the back legs tucked underneath to compensate for the slope.
