Beautiful area to cruise around and enjoy nature. We spent several hours here relaxing and then also made our way to Lake Bellaire, which is also stunning.

Loved the area. So pretty! Great for young kiddos. Easy to navigate. The visitor center is awesome and a great place to learn.

The visitors center is beautiful and the paths are well maintained. The wetlands are lush and full of life and sounds. They actually rent kayaks too. Truly a gem!

We rented a boat to travel from Bellaire to Torch Lake. The views through the river were indescribable. Pictures and video don't do it justice! I can't wait to go back to take my adult children!

This preserve said dog friendly. Brought 2 toy poodle and we were only allowed on 2 trails. No reasons given. The Rail trail is a road, the other trail is a short loop through the woods.
The Fern, Water trails which looked interesting did not allow dogs. We have no idea what their reasoning is. We’re traveling all over Michigan and not experienced a preserve that advertises dog friendly and it’s really not. No reason given

Cute fairy garden; knowledgeable on duty staff inside building. Clean bathrooms inside Ed center. Clean trails, great stopping points to sit and enjoy nature. No otters seen - twice now.

Loved the different trails and kids enjoyed the store and the different exhibits. The swamp contrasted with the wooded forest was cool.

This is a place for tired souls to rejuvenate. A place to unwind and leave stressful, busy noises and distractions of the world behind. Thank God for this beautiful place because it cleans the water and is refuge for wild life. Wake your nose up to a symphony wild flowers, sand and trees.

We are always looking for ways to enjoy the natural beauty wherever we vacation. This series of hiking trails did not disappoint. They are clearly marked and the visitor's center had friendly personnel, who made a point to ask about what we wanted to do and see in the area. She directed us to beautiful Barnes Park on Lake Michigan and to a public beach access on Torch Lake, as well as an Antrim County park and hiking area which also had Lake Michigan beach access.

Yes, it could be considered handicap accessible, however the board walk might be a little bumpy.
