This store is a treasure - they have everything imaginable here! Not just framed paintings or prints or photos, either: they also have beautiful ceramic creations, clothing accessories, carved wooden creations, stuffed animals.....the list goes on & on & on!!! You really need to check back FREQUENTLY because their stock changes every week, and it's all really, really wonderful. And best of all: AFFORDABLE!

This is a nice stop while visiting downtown Big Rapids. One time we visited to see a 15 foot quilt made from photos and fabric. Absolutely amazing! They also had smaller works by the same husband & wife team who created the quilted wall mural. The exhibits are always changing every few months so there is always something to keep your interest and desire to return.

I'm a teacher and needed to teach art for a semester so I went to artworks to learn and practice. Great place, lots of classes offered, and very affordable. Worth looking into and making it part of a visit to BR.

So many things for for everyone to enjoy. Arts and crafts, quilting, jewelry, pottery, are just a few of the items you will see while visiting the Artworks building. Kids classes as well as adult classes are offered in an array of opportunities to expand your creative side. If you are looking for that unique gift for the holidays or that someone special, this is the place to shop.

Call me biased, but I love Artworks. I had the privilege of being the Education Coordinator from 2010-2014. This place brings the community together for art experiences, cultural events and excellent art exhibits. The Painted Turtle (Artworks' Gift Shop) is full of unique gifts from almost every media. Their education offerings are top notch and taught by professionals who have honed their craft for decades. The staff is friendly and accommodating! The building houses 2 dance floors, large classroom and pottery studio, generous meeting rooms available for rentals and the exquisite Gallery/Gift Shop. For such a small town, Artworks packs a huge creative wallop!!! Don't miss it!

Artworks in downtown Big Rapids has an exciting, ever changing choice of exhibits. Everything from Andy Warhol to a display from the 1920's to the children's artwork on display. Local artists are also showcased at Artworks. It is the best of all worlds.
