Holy taffy!!! This place is. Amazing if you like taffy. If you can’t find it here it doesn’t exist. So many to choose from. Go in and get a bag and enjoy!!!!

During our trip around Charlevoix my fiance and I stopped at The Taffy Barrel. Definitely amazed by how many different kinds of taffy that the store had. Plus the fact that you could put whatever candy you wanted in your bag and buy it all together was nice. So if you are looking for finding some wacky and cool or those same old taffy flavors you like this is the place to go. Plus the employee at the counter was super friendly.

They have almost every flavor you can imagine! Taffy tastes good and the staff was great. Worth stopping in when you visit.

We found this place while walking around and we were intrigued. Inside there was taffy barrels across the whole store with flavors that you wouldn’t ever of imagined. We almost filled a whole bucket and we have been trying them and enjoying them. The only reason we did not give it five stars was that we were not greeted when we entered and we needed to ask questions in order to understand how the shopping process worked.

If you like/love Salt Water Taffy, this is the place to go. The best thing about this place is that you can choose the flavors you like, instead of getting random flavors as in pre-packaged . So many flavors to choose from.
They also give you a color list of the taffy, so you can identify each and every candy.
Just pick up a basket and take your time searching for the right or all the right flavors you love.

Relatively inexpensive and so much fun! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Make sure to get a cheat sheet of the flavors or take pics on your phone for reference!

We got a basket and 1/4 of taffy (maybe 7-8 lbs.). ($4.95 lb.) Took it up to counter, man asks where we're from (to see if he can scam us?) Proceeds to weigh taffy and tells us $95.00. My husband and I stand there baffled and shocked. This was after he supposedly gave us 1/2 lb. free. My husband and I debated what went wrong. (Did we get the price wrong?) Finally I say "That's a lot of money..." Man just seems to hesitate... Husband says we can't afford 100 bucks for candy. We are ready to just leave it and walk out. Then man FINALLY re-rings the candy and it ends up at 50.00. Still too much, but whatever. We pay and leave. Walking out, my husband says he felt the chashier was trying to scam us. I felt the same way. If you go, be cautious, ask for the weight of your candy...Taffy is good, but beware. This was more than a simple mistake.

Look kids (of all ages) candy by the barrel! Some old fashioned candies and over 70 flavors of taffy. I know because I bought some of each! Friendly owners and a sample or two to whet your appetite!

Pretty cool when you have kids. Was neat to grab baskets and see what everyone ended up with. New and retro candies. Kinda expensive though. Before we knew it, we had almost $60! The owner was very nice and friendly. Fun experience. I would go back.

For some reason I was not able to enter July 2016. We make a trip to the U P every year and have stoped at the Taffy Barrel every year since it opened. A long ride from Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, but worth the trip to this charming shop in a charming town. Fun and strange colors Wild flavors . A treat easily transported over state lines and league. Spend at least one delicious hour back to your childhood. I'm sure there are no calories!,,
