Kind of boring ride through trucking warehouses, sams club, never made it to Quincy ( 3 miles short)
Neat whistle, steam 110 smoky from Tennessee . 605 comfy leather recliner, only sell out 75% of capacity.
Grandkids would like, not too long, an hour.
Will look through depot if not too crowded

My grandson and I enjoyed it. It was part of his outreach school program so it was free for him. It is a little pricey at $20 for non school people. I would take the Christmas Trip. Santa sees all the kids and their are treats for everyone. The train goes several miles; then it is driven backwards. A quartet sang Christmas songs.

Really fun trip on on a train. Kids loved it... so did we. Train itself is very nice too. Steam powered and they blow the whistle quite a few times.

When I purchased tickets online back in March of 2018, nothing was stated on the website about the need for maintenance for equipment. My 86 year old mom and I took a trip from Florida to Michigan to take a walk down memory lane. My mom was born in a house in Coldwater. She was excited because when she was in elementary school, her class took the same ride to Quincy to see Snow White.
Because of maintenance on some of the engines, the train did not take the full trek to Quincy. Our two hour ride became 45 minutes, straight one way and backing up the other. I was pretty disappointed.
Mom seemed to have a good time which is why I gave a three star rating.

Great experience for the low price of the ticket. The small steam locomotive was great to see in action. Recommend you arrive no later than 30 min before departure to get a good seat. Was a pretty basic ride but was still a good value for the ticket. Have a nice small souvenir shop and museum.

If you love the old west feel, you will love a ride on this old steam train. Feels like the wild wild west!! it is so much different with the sound and feel than a ...say amtrack ride. Well worth a ride to experience for both young and old.

I purchased tickets online to ensure we got seats. Adults were $20 and kids were $13. I think that the $13 price should apply to kids under 18. Because of a few teenagers we spent a lot on this adventure. I was impressed with the train station and the neat equipment and history available. The staff was awesome! They were friendly and helpful and really made the experience fun! The old train cars were pretty cool and were still In pretty good shape considering their age. Even in the cold and rainy temperatures the heaters kept the train cars comfortable while wearing a hoody. My major disappointment was that a diesel locomotive pulled the train. I was really excited that it would be a steam powered locomotive. I didn’t find this out until we arrived. No way or time to change plans. Don’t get me wrong we had a lot of fun. But I was very disappointed it wasn’t a steam locomotive. Once in Quincy, the kids had a blast gathering Easter eggs. The staff divided the sections so that kids 4 and under had there own section of eggs to hunt for without older kids taking them all. I thought this was great! I will recommend this train ride to others but will definitely call first to make sure it’s a steam locomotive.

Loved the sound of the old locomotive...and the smoke. Cars were in somewhat rough shape but the experience overall worth doing.

We went for the fall colors and novelty of riding a steam train. Staff was very friendly. Scenery was a bit lacking as it seemed to be a lot of industrial buildings and back yards. The cars we walked thru seemed well kept, especially for their age. Had a good time and will likely go back for another trip. The train robbery sounds neat!

We brought our year and a half old son on the fall colors run. He had a blast. He played with toy trains in the depot, watched out the train's windows, walked freely up and down the length of the train, enjoyed a variety of open and closed cars, played in the park in Quincy, and even climbed aboard one of the engines. There was enough variety to sustain him during the full length of the ride. Car 633's spacious bathroom made diaper changes a breeze. One word of advice would be to pack a substantial picnic. The dining car sells chips, cookies, and candy bars, but the rest is up to you.
