First time in Perth, first time at the Optus stadium, first ever AFL game.
I’ve been to many stadiums in the UK, football, rugby, you name the teams.
All fade in comparison with this stunning stadium. Aside from the brilliant architecture, the facilities are amazing. Toilets at every exit from the seating areas, quiet at half time! Unheard of in UK.
Seating areas and pitch visible from concourse areas, again a novelty for me.
Thoroughly enjoyed the match, grasped the main concepts quite quickly (some help from google) - it’s better than soccer in my view.
After the match, easy to walk to train for Perth and Freemantle.
You don’t know how lucky you are in Australia (you probably do!)

Exceptional experience with some serious heights. Was lucky enough to go on an evening when the ground was lit up. Had Pete who was an excellent guide

Optus Stadium is built on a fans-first basis. This modern arena is the most up-to-date stadium in Australia. It will hold more than 60,000 spectators. Sporting events that are held at the arena include AFL, rugby league and cricket, at elite level. The arena is located at Burswood, in Perth's inner eastern suburbs. It's an impressive facility, visitors can take a guided tour and get a lasting impression of this outstanding stadium.

The tour was just fabulous and the stadium great our tour guide took us every where we could go .. Just a little short on some important facts which following AFL most would know about.. Didn't know who the Eagles 🦅 coach was...But did say a couple of times she didn't follow AFL but followed English soccer ⚽..

I booked the Optus stadium tour for my boys and I during our two days in Pert.
Both my boys have been AFL fans for a long time going for the GWS Giants.
It was an opportunity to see behind the scenes of a large stadium and get a feel for what it takes to broadcast.
The tour centre was easy to find, all the staff warm and inviting. Their knowledge of the stadium was awesome.
We enjoyed going up to the top decks, followed by going underneath to the briefing rooms, dressing rooms, warm up areas and even seeing the ice baths etc.
Due to them doing upkeep on the grass the day after a BBL match we couldn’t go out ono the pitch, which disappointed my boys, but didn’t detract from the day.
It was affordable and and interesting and good to see all the cool areas like corporate suites and see how the other half watch their games.
It’s a really nice, functional stadium with so many features.
We’d do it again.

Such an amazing venue which always looks stunning and runs very efficiently regardless of the event. I never hesitate visiting this venue for events. If you want parking options have a look at Belmont race course (Wilson parking) as they quite often offer convenient options for events.

We did the stadium tour and also included the lunch option. Highly recommend . Great to learn about the stadium and see behind the scenes

We bike ride here from home and have morning tea and also go to events. Park is lovely and restful just to have morning tea and watch the birds or people. There is a cafe and toilets as well as

The tour covered the history of the area as well as a number of areas of the stadium. We arrived the day before the test match was to start which meant we saw some of the set up but missed out on seeing the AFL players change room which was a shame. The tour guide was excellent.

Hi, just wondering what Section 518 is like for concerts. How is the sound that high up and also is it an ok view of the big screens used? I understand that we wouldn't get a good view of the artist in person but as long as we can utilise the screens I assume it will be fine.

Im going to see u2, we are in section 508 right at the back....will there be room to dance a bit? Im concerned it might be a bit steep and cramped....if so are you allowed to stand somewhere else for more room?

Of the stadium
Are you able to explore the stadium (like USA stadiums) or are you required to stay within your ticket assigned level and section during the entire game (like UK stadiums)?

You can walk around the levels to get food and drinks and have a look but you can’t get into sections that your seat is not in. Hope that helps and well worth going to look at.

Can anyone let me know what Section 545 Row 2 is like? I am scared we will be too close to the front where they barrier is and can no see anything as we short people.

should be fine, the front row has the screen and may impact, the second row should be fine as each row is elevated.
