This is a fun place to take children or a date. Obviously, this is a warmer weather place to go. Easiest to see after students are gone.

These Gardens are just beautiful. There are perennials, annuals, a rose garden, and trials of plants that might get to market. There are sunny beds, shade beds, native Michigan plants, and so much more. There is an Arboretum and the best children’s garden I have ever seen.
So much work and energy goes into planting and maintaining these gardens. Volunteers assist employees and parking fees helps sustain the gardens. The whole campus is pretty but these gardens are spectacular.

These are well maintained and very well organized gardens. They gracefully loop around little ponds, most with their names displayed. Warning, leave Fido at home...no dogs allowed.

The most beautiful botanic gardens in the erea. One should go there in the late evening before dark which gives you an option to hear the rwitting birds. Its lovely music with very few people. Do not miss the place.

There are several spots of gardens on campus. In the A288 plant & soil building are different plants. It's a nice hour visit plus the children's area is nice.Friends from out of state enjoy seeing all flowers etc.

wide array, wonderfully landscaped of flower gardens, in bloom all of the growing season. Well tended. Great pathways, and places to sit and eat lunch. Take time to enjoy this feast of flowers...

Free, quiet and quick visit. Everything is clearly labeled. Special kids' areas. It's not as big as anticipated, but there are also areas that are used by students and staff only so I am sure we only saw a tiny bit of all they have to offer. Cool learning environment though. Worth a visit.

There are several gardens located throughout the MSU campus. J. W. Beale garden displays plants in four main collections. The plants are labeled and the stroll through the acres are very educational. The Horticulture and Landscape gardens allow one to view mature trees and shrubs in a well designed space. Allow about an hour for each of these gardens. Then visit the perennial and rose gardens which also provide a feast for the eyes and mind. Nearby is a demonstration Bee Garden which gives one ideas and information about attracting pollinators. And there is also a fun children's garden! Visiting these gardens will take at least another hour. And don't miss the Healing Garden which is located a short driving distance from the other gardens near the Radiology Bldg. This is an easy 30 minute walk. And when you're done you might want to visit the campus Dairy Store for an ice cream! All told it is a pleasant 1/2 day outting!

The MSU Botanical Gardens was a pleasant surprise - The Roses were in full bloom and there was every species you could ever want all smelling better than the next - There were fountains with big marble balls and great backdrops for pictures - All in all a must see and very breath taking gardens as well as a wonderful Children's Garden - Definitely make this a part of your itinerary if you are ever in the MSU area and then end your stay at the MSU Dairy Store to make it a day to remember!!
