It is beautiful inside, a small Detroit Fox Theater. The seating is very tight as far as leg room. There is not any leg room your knees will touch the seat.in front and you must get up to let others pass to their seats, i should say get up and move out to the aisle. If you are short you may can stand to let someone pass. If you are tall and or have a healthy build the seats may be a little tight, but have great cushion. The better seats are towards the front in the larger single chairs near stage. The parking is what it is for downtown parking, so consider a good walk or valet if available. It is great to see it open and still has the classy historical look. Oh and arrive early when doors open for parking reasons.

Saw recent show here. I can't tell you how nice this place is. Had not been here since the remodel. Another fine addition to Flint's downtown.

I wanted to see Styx again (live in Chicagoland) and the closest they played was in Flint at the Capitol Theatre. I'd never been to Flint, let alone this venue and I pleasantly surprised with what I found. It is a restored, classic theatre with nice sidelines, a friendly staff, and relatively close parking.
Another nice aspect was the area - even post-show, I felt safe walking down a block to my parking spot.
Seating is nice - seats are a little wider and the floor is slightly angled up and gives each seat a decent view.
As is typical, people are friendly in smaller cities and I was not disappointed with Flint and the Capitol Theatre. I'd go back in a heartbeat, if the option presents.

I visited the Capitol for the first time since the early 90s and I was impressed! They did a fantastic job remodeling and it will be a jewel for downtown Flint for years to come. It reminds me of the State/Fillmore theater in Detroit. Parking was plentiful and close by just across the street and kitty corner to the theater. Lots of good restaurants within easy walking distance for after the show. Can’t wait to see a concert here! My only complaint is with the online website for picking your own seats- it’s not labeled for what seats are closest to the stage and you may think you are buying front rows seats but are really getting last row lol

I volunteered for the Newboys concert and work their merch table. It was fun. I got to see some of the concert. I was so excited to attend an event at the Capitol. The venue was small for the entertainment. It probably should have been at the Whiting. Overall enjoyed the concert.

I was here for a work event. I was excited to see the redone inside. I was not impressed by the staff. There were so many ushers but I don’t understand what they did. When people showed up they only let them in through one door. It was pretty cold outside. Looking forward to attending a show.

I can't help but think of the Styx Album Cover for the Album "Paradise Theater".
This place once again looks like the front cover (Brand new) rather than the derelict back of the album (like a few years ago).
The interior and exterior of the Capitol Theater have been fully restored. Actually, this place is now better than new because of the new technology added such as a Christie projector and a brand new sound and lighting system. There are new elevators in the lobby which will take you to the new "black-box" theater in the basement where smaller events can be held (seating for about 200).
The premiere show "A Classy Brassy Christmas" was excellent. I hope that future shows will be equally spectacular.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND a visit the to the new, reborn Capitol Theater in downtown Flint.
The Capitol Theater is located near the new Flint Farmer's Market and is West of the MTA Bus Terminal and is across the street from the excellent Table & Tap restaurant and brew-house.

The theatre must have been the place to be and be seen. Currently it is under renovation, and I'm interested in seeing how it will turn out.
There have been no B, C, or even D celebrity shows ever at the theatre. Once its renovations are complete, I do hope this changes.

Th entire building was in need of repairs but it was obvious it was once a great place. With full scale renovations now underway, I can't wait to see what it looks like.

Lived in Flint my entire life and never have been inside the Capitol Theatre. But Mott Foundation, and other donators, gave the Whiting $15 million to renovate the Capitol Theatre. Before that happens they opened it to the public. It was great to see the inside. Impressive and beautiful. Cannot wait for it to open after it was redone.
