Nice boardwalk that leads to a lighthouse. We walked out when it was foggy but it was still cool to see!

Walked here from the Colonial Motel when the sun was setting. It is absolutely beautiful and worth the visit. Be careful if the waves are high because you will definitely get wet!!

This boardwalk is right across from several hotels. It runs right along a busy road but the trees and bushes create a private buffer for most of the walk way.

A little longer walk than it looks from the road😲, but worth it! It's a lovely view. Nice walk for the dogs. The beach looks like a fun place to spend the day, but we were just passing through.

Lovely walk along the water. We took grandchildren, and they liked the lighthouse. A little precarious, as the cement is broken, so just watch your step.

This is located in a park. You need the recreation passport to enter. The park is so clean and family friendly. There are picnic tables, area for kids to run and play and the pier was wonderful.

The boardwalk is partially a trail and partially a boardwalk along the lake. Nice views but close to main road in spots where the sounds of traffic disturb the peace. Was very buggy, in part to all the dead fish washed ashore and smelled very bad. It got better once we arrived at the beach by the breakwater. That was nice and cleaned up. The breakwater was an easy walk out to the lighthouse.

We walked the entire boardwalk on a nice summer day with a sunset. After a long day driving in the car, this was a great change of pace.

When you use Google or Apple maps to navigate to the boardwalk, it takes you to the riverwalk, which is fine, but if your goal is to see the lighthouse I would start somewhere closer. We found a close parking lot just by driving around because you can see it from some points in the road. I believe it is called the Manistique East Breakwater Lighthouse. The walk out to the lighthouse is longer than I've seen at other lighthouses, but not bad at all and very worth it. This lighthouse is gorgeous, super clean, and a fabulous spot for sunset viewing.

Walking out to the lighthouse when the waves were crashing was really cool. I suppose it could get really dangerous if the waves were really rough, but when we were there it was just enough to be fun to watch but not dangerous.

Both. There are real nice restrooms in the campground adjacent to the board walk.

Access can be found in a parking lot behind the Hardee’s in Manistique past a beached boat named Shelley.
