“‪Beautiful Rustic Retreat‬”

‪إذا كنت تبحث عن على الطراز الريفي مخيم هذا المكان! التحفظات تملأ بسرعة، لذا التخطيط للمستقبل. قضينا عدة أيام هنا في تموز/يوليه خيمة Camping مع الأصدقاء. المناظر مدهشة! الفعلى مخيم خط الشاطئ الصخري جداً، لم يكن رائع للسباحة. أردنا أن قضاء يوم على الشاطئ تقرر ذلك التوجه إلى الجزء الجنوبى من الدولة حيث قيل لنا بجوار الحديقة فريق العمل أن الشاطئ الرملي. إنه على بعد دقائق معدودة فقط بالسيارة من مخيم، عندما تصل إلى هناك عليك أن تتنزه سيرًا على بعد ميل واحد عن مسارات المشي عبر الغابات. يستحق تماما صغيرة أو التنزه سيرًا، كما ان الشاطئ رائعة! لن يخيب أملك! لقد أحببنا زيارتنا، على العودة!‬

‪لا تزال هذه المفضل لدي State Park أي مكان! مكان جميل على طرف شبه جزيرة leelanau المذهلة. أحب مخيم والمنارة! أيضا، لطيفة مسارات المشي لمسافات طويلة على بعد بضعة الجنوب.‬

‪Beach site 21 had hundreds of dead alwives and millions of midge flies. 1st day the smell of dead fish was overwhelming. The bugs were everywhere on the beach site. Tried to tough it out left early no way could we sit outside or at the fire pit. Biblical amount of midge flies buzzing and landing on car, trailer, chairs, cooler, tress picnic table, etc.‬

‪I did M-22 on my little road trip and Leelanau SP was a must stop (a slight detour). The lighthouse and shoreline are amazing. I paid the couple of dollars and went into the lighthouse and up to the top. It's a really cool lighthouse. The shoreline is very rocky and offers excellent rock collecting. Be aware, I have been a couple times now and it is ALWAYS very windy. Bring a jacket.‬

‪Lovely hiking area & great Lake Michigan Views‬

‪We bought the required day pass to enter the park, but balked at the additional $5 per person to enter the lighthouse! Wandered around the area checking out the views of lake from all sides, then back down the road a little to take the short hike to see the Manitou Overlook & check out the lakeshore. Had hoped to catch a glimpse of a nesting Piper's Plover, but not so lucky. We did see Mute Swans in the lake.‬

‪The wind was roaring on the day we visited and the waves were big. We certainly weren't there to swim. We walked along the shore and park as well as visited the museum. It was an enjoyable visit.‬

‪We drive up to Leelanau State Park whole checking out some wineries. We walked around the lighthouse and check out the water. There isn’t a beach by the lighthouse. There were some rustic campsites very close to the water. It wasn’t very busy and was a nice break from the busy of Traverse City. ‬

‪Upon arriving at the park entrance we told the guard that we were there to visit the Lighthouse. We were charged $9 for the car fee and when we walked to the light house we were told that we had to pay $5 per adult. Since we drove an extra 90 minutes to see the Lighthouse, we reluctantly paid the extra charge. Then we were allowed to enter but told we would not be able to go to the top because of COVID.
It would of been nice if we were told at the entrance that we could not access the whole Lighthouse. So after paying $29 for the four of us we weren't even given a tour. Talk about Bait & Switch! Don't bother wasting your money.‬

‪Perfect rustic getaway‬

‪Leelanau State Park is at the very tip of Michigan's pinky, making it a specific destination, you won't just pass by. We enjoyed the vibe, with rustic camping right along the water, nice trails, and the Lighthouse. It was very quiet and very few people. Note, the trails are located a few miles south of the campground and lighthouse so you'll have to drive there. The terrain is varied, with lots of tree roots and sand.

The Lighthouse does charge an admission fee, but the Fog Signal building next door that houses shipwreck artifacts is free. Make sure you take time to wander around the shoreline to look for petoskey stones. ‬

‪Beutiful windy, but the view was magnificent. Firts time the older girls seen light houses. We made it just in time before the big storms, and high winds. Waves were really big‬

‪Lovely lighthouse museum and maritime video‬

‪We paid a short visit to the light house in the state park. The staff were friendly (and offered up several recommendations for dining) and helpful. The museum was well laid out and the maritime disaster video about Lake Michigan was very informative. The video itself was pretty long, so a seating area would have been nice for a short while.

The grounds have some fantastic small rock sculptures. I'm smitten with them.‬

‪Lighthouse and a hike. ‬

‪Went to the north end of the peninsula to see the lighthouse. Nice little area and it has a quaint gift/camping shop. Worth going to see. We then ventured about 4 miles back south to hike some trails and get out to the waterfront. ‬
