Our trip on the Scout was par excellence! I invited four of my friends, added some wine and snacks, while the Captain skillfully sailed us around West Bay. It was a beautiful fall day and we all commented how relaxed we all felt. In fact, my friends and I are already planning another trip next year on this comfortable and Fun sailing ship!

I booked an afternoon sail late in the season with some friends for something unique and memorable and it did NOT disappoint. The weather was a bit more moody being September however that only added to the experience for us. Our caption was a joy to sail with. She was incredibly knowledgeable and capable and the whole ride was tons of fun and felt like a true adventure. We all can’t wait to come back.

Captain Michele was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable, answered all & any question we had. The night was perfect, a great sail!!

Our group of 2 couple had an excellent sail with Captain Dave. We opted for a three hour sail and had a great time. Dave is a skilled sailor. This is a first class outfit

Sailing Scout to Power Island was the perfect day and Michelle was the perfect captain! We cannot wait to come back again next summer. Boat was gorgeous, really interactive and peaceful at the same time, we loved every minute!

We chartered Scout for a date and we’re promptly met by our captain, Michelle. In sum, it was a fabulous day on the water!
I have a number of sailing destinations, but sailing with Michelle is the most one can learn about sailing in a day. She is a very talented sailor and handles the Scout in an extraordinarily way; no wasted motions!
The Scout is a lovely boat in a highly maintained condition. And the Bay is a fabulous body of sailing water.
I cannot say too many superlatives about Michelle and Scout. If you’re at all interested in sailing or just think you may be interested you’ll be missing an opportunity to check this off your Bucket List.

My husband, daughter and son-in-law and I had a great sail aboard Scout with Captain Michelle to celebrate a 40th birthday. All day weather reports were iffy but Michelle was in contact watching forecasts and working with us to make sure all was safe and fun. Michelle was awesome! My husband has experience sailing and he was thrilled Michelle asked if he would like to steer while she handled sails. We all had a great time and hope to sail with Captain Michelle in future. It was beautiful boat and a great adventure.

The 2 hour Sunset Cruise on “Scout” was terrific! Our Captain Michelle is the greatest, a real asset to the Team, she made our family of 5 adults so comfortable right from the start. She is so good at sensing what would make people enjoy the trip the most on an individual basis, and is very tactful in suggesting what we should/should not do. I would recommend Traverse Tall Ship Co. to everyone and esp Sailing Yacht Scout and Michelle. Thanks for a great time!!!

Everyone involved was courteous, on -time, and it was literally smooth sailing. The Captain was fun, knowledgable and made it an even greater experience. The ship was in great condition and it was spotless.

He could probably accommodate you. He told us 5 or 6. Since you have 2 children, it could work!

Scout can only be booked privately, for one flat fee. The 12-2 and 3-5 sails are $319. The sunset sail is $369

I think it would make for a stressful trip on the Scout unless the child was able to sit right by you if you were in the cockpit. It would be okay if you stayed in the salon but that’s not much fun if you’re sailing. Also, the day we went it was very windy so I would definitely would not recommend a trip for that age on a day like that.

Two of us sailed and Captain Dave gavevusca steady hand. You need to step over some rope rigging, onto a small area, then step down onto seat cushion, then step down and sit on the seat cusion. If two people lend a hand, that is it. Once seated just enjoy the ride.
Take your time stepping and have someone grab your hand. No need to go below unless to use the head (bathroom). It is a wonderful experience...calm and relaxing.

Yes they sail in September and October. If you go to their website and click tickets and scheduling you can make a reservation. Or if you want to call them they have a phone number there to call. Have a great time! We did.
