I am new to the world of fermenting, and have definitely caught the bug! The people here have been most helpful in guiding me into this new venture, without overselling or over-complicating the issue. Thank you for your help. I have recently enjoyed my first batch of coconut kefir water, coconut yoghurt, and have a batch of kimchi fermenting now.

Given a cheese making course as gift by our daughter. Being more inclined to consume than make we approached it with interest, but didn't expect too much. After all you just heat the milk, stir and magically cheese appears! How can that occupy a couple of hours.
Wrong - Valerie is passionate about cheese making and a significant figure in the Australian Cheese making industry. She is both warm and entertaining and the four hours flew by. We made/assisted with the making of Ricotta in a couple of varieties and Mozzarella. We learned how to make hard cheeses and sampled some of her finest products (not for sale!!) The course comes with a very comprehensive starter kit. The presentation and the written takeaway instructions are clear and she makes herself available for inquiry from students. Yes, we have made cheese since.... successfully... A pleasant diversion from your everyday... worth taking time out on a weekend, or adding it to a holiday excursion.
(Kits for cheese, yoghurts and fermenting, and a wide variety of implements are available from their website)

I have attended two cooking classes here, the first was for jam and preserve making and the second on cheese making. I learnt so much from these classes and have enjoyed trying out these recipes at home. The classes are small so you get real hands on tuition as well as being able to sample the food there and take some home as well. Highly recommended!
