Great option for a picnic lunch. Stopped there on our way from ND to MSP and gave the kids some snacks and time to run off energy. Great view, picnic tables, bathrooms (albeit, public/less clean…) and relaxing green space.

Plenty of street parking, bring your towel or lawn chair and have fun at the city beach. Kids will have a blast in the sand and swimming. Lots of boats and jet skis in the area so overall a lot of activity water is very busy. Couple cafe are across the street to grab food.

Visited the beach with my takeout lunch in May 2021. Nice playground area and picnic tables. Clean beach. Cannot comment on the bathrooms as I didn't use them.

Came down for a week with my hubbie to relax and enjoy! I’ve been coming to DL for 25 years! The beach is always clean. I enjoy waking along the shore. We are coming back next summer.

Again, Detroit Lakes puts on a great event at their waterfront beach area! Ice sculptures and jumping into an ice hole were jus two of the events we enjoyed. Then in the evening they held fireworks! A great time was had by o e and all!

The beach is wonderful, Detroit Lakes is one of my favorite summer destinations. Check out Zorbas, it is the best.

You can walk 1 mile on the sandy beach , or enjoy the sun or take a dip in the beautiful clear lake water. No matter what you choose to do, you will enjoy this lovely beach.

Took a beautiful motorcycle ride around the lake that ended at the waterfront. The city beach was clean and less crowded than expected. Fun selection of restaurants and a nice open park.

Are dogs allowed?

There is a sign that says no dogs on the beach but many dogs are walked along the beach on leashes and always picked up after. The police don't say anything about walking, but not sure if they'd allow for longer periods due to the sign postage.
