Beautiful little park and amazing falls, very easy to find and can see them without walking much at all.

The water fall is small and you cant get close to them so many internet pictures are misleading. It is an easy walk directly to the falls with several stairs but landings and benches to rest on each landing. There are several signs posted about no trespassing and some stairs are closed off but there are a few great spots to see the falls.

A lovely waterfall next to Sea Salt Eatery. You can hike on trails to access the falls. Bike rentals nearby. Food and live music nearby. Trails lead to Mississippi River in Minnehaha Park. Walk across the bridge to the park area and view the falls from above. Beautiful area in the city.

The waterfall is O.K., but nothing to go out of your way for. The park is big, with lakes and easy paths. Parking is sort of expensive.

The waterfall is situated in Minnehaha Park, a beautiful green area along the Mississippi River a ten minutes drive from downtown Minneapolis.
Good paid parking options are available nearby and the area around the falls is really nice, especially on a sunny day. The waterfall is beautiful and although some of the paths were closed during our visit it was possible to have some nice views.

We timed it with an art festival but the falls were lovely! The park is clean and there are public restrooms. Even in 90+ degree weather, the shade provided relief.

It was neat to see a waterfall in the city. My only complaint was that there was trash and graffiti near the waterfall. The waterfall itself was very pretty.

The falls are truly beautiful. Picture perfect when we were there. You can view them from different spots which is nice.

We were in town for other things and had some spare time. I saw that there was a falls so we decided to check it out. This is south of downtown - about 15 minutes or so and what a cool surprise! The falls are beautiful and the area to walk around is quite pleasant. About the only problems are parking and signage. There are some pay lots and there are places to park along the road that are pay as well but it is a bit confusing where to park that is close to the viewing area. This is where better signage would have helped.
Basically, once you park you walk around in what is kind of a park and to get the view that is shown in the picture (on Tripadvisor) you would be not too far off a roadway. There is a way to walk to the bottom of the falls but the main pathway was closed. People went around the barriers, however.
It is definitely worth seeing. It is not a long trip and you needed stay for more than 30 minutes. There is an eating place across the road from the falls but we didn't try it.

Minnehaha Falls is truly spectacular and beautiful! It is a must see in Minneapolis and I highly recommend visiting. It is very accessible and viewable from all angles. It was crowded when I was there last summer, but it was still a great experience!

If you just want to see the falls, it doesn’t take long at all. The falls itself is not large. But if you want to see the falls and the park, I would say an hour or two. I spent about two hours to see the falls and walk around some of the park.
How many steps is it down to the bottom of the falls..thx

Do if you park in the lots it is possible to walk to the falls with no steps, the big park is st the top of the falls. If you use the west side street parking I am guessing 14-28 steps. If you wish to hike the bottom of the falls I would estimate 22-26 steps. There are landings and people of all skills so if you go a few and rest no worries. The falls are beautiful from the top. I’m estimating but it’s s bit of exercise to do the walking

I'm unsure of the actual hours, but this is a city park and it appears that there were lights. I'm not sure I would walk around really late at night for safety reasons.

No you can’t walk under the falls. You can get very close to the falls from the viewing area and walk all around the surrounding area.

We are coming to Minneapolis for the first time and flying into St. Paul’s airport. As we are not sure what to do or were to stay other than the city. We were wondering if this would be suitable and not to far away from the airport as we are only there for four days

Minnehaha Falls are very close to the MSP airport. It is a beautiful area for walking or just enjoying the beauty if you like to be out of doors.

There are many you can find in Minneapolis Downtown or St Paul. Else Air BNB is another good option
