Frank Gehry designed museum, adjacent o U of Minnesota campus. Contemporary art exhibits in an open and airy space- a visual treat, with the bonus of being able to visit the U of Minnesota campus. Free to all.

El museo es de arte contemporaneo con muestras e instalaciones muy modernas y muy bien presentadas. Es muy difícil llegar y difícil para tomar un taxi o Uber luego de la visita. No hay indicaciones claras.

This museum is free and has nice exhibitions but the absolute highlight is the building itself. It's a stunning work by the great Frank Gehry. Truly a magical creation.

Recently,I visited the Weisman Art Museum with its fine exterior architecture.I appreciated its fine temporay exhibit of oil paintings by American Painter,B.J.O. Nordfeldt..I especially appreciated these oil paintings by B.J.O. Nordfeldt;"Feed Lot,Minnesota",Fishermen and Seagulls,Northern California","Jackson Park,Chicago"(very Impressionistic),Antelope Dance,1919",and "Minneapolis Landscape",among numerous others...
I also saw fine works by Frank Gehry("Glass Fish"),Roy Lichtenstein,and James Rosenquist("World's Fair,Mural")at this small art museum. on the huge campus of the University of Minnesota.

For now, all you can appreciate is the external aspect of this Frank Gehry building. Although not as famous as some of his other work, this one blends nicely into the fabric of the University of Minnesota. Unfortunately, the museum itself remains closed due to Covid.

We chose this art museum primarily because the Minneapolis Institute of Art was restricting access to the public. We went in with low expectations because we knew it was small, but it was refreshingly interesting.
We found that the artist bio information and background of each piece were just as, if not more interesting, than the actual displayed art. Because we read every placard of each piece, we wound up there longer than anticipated.
The gift shop needs more items that pertain to the artist and material in the gallery.

The art museum is right on the campus. It’s a cool building. The building itself looks like a piece of art. A nice spot.

This Gehry museum is small, but so beautiful and exciting. Good little art shop, mostly modern art, but there are also a ceramics room and a fantastic Korean collection of wood and funtiture. I arrived right between exhibits, but there was still a wonderful collection to enjoy. Sometimes there is street parking nearby, and otherwise there is a lovely parking structure built alongside. Bee hives on the roof! Friendly students maning the galleries and front desk. The glorious 25.6 foot Gehry Carp has been installed here since the conservatory at the Sculpture Garden at the Walker is now open to the elements. The museum is open to a free will gift. But if you have even 20 min it is beautiful and inspiring.

ミネソタ大学のキャンパス内にある美術館です。なんと言っても、フランク ゲーリー設計で、建物を見るだけで大満足です。建築好きにはたまりません。

LAに似たような建物があることは知っていましたが、実物を見られて最高です。言うまでもなく、フランク・ゲーリーはプリツカー賞をもらった世界的な建築家です。

I too agree with everyone... one hour is sufficient amount of time. But make sure to visit the gift shop... it was a good one!
