“‪Taking an Elevator to the Top of Foshay Tower‬”

‪رحلة جيدة. وصلنا في حوالي الساعة 12:30 مساءً وشقنا طريقنا داخل الفندق لشراء تذاكرنا. كان وقوف السيارات صعبًا بعض الشيء ، واضطررنا إلى الوقوف على بعد مبنى في الشارع لأنهم لم يكن قريبًا. شقنا طريقنا داخل المبنى واشترينا تذاكرنا وتلقينا بطاقة مفتاح خاصة نقلتنا إلى منصة المراقبة. كانت هناك غرفة صغيرة في أعلى البرج تحتوي على العديد من الصور والمقالات الصحفية القديمة المتعلقة بالبرج. يتكون برج المراقبة من مناظر 360 درجة لوسط مدينة مينيابوليس ، مع عدة مناظير في زوايا البرج. نصيحة: أوصي بقضاء 15 دقيقة هنا إذا كنت تريد حقًا رؤية كل شيء.‬

‪This was a surprise bonus we found in the city. Just to clear up some confusion, the easiest way to get tickets is to go into The W hotel and ask the front desk. None of the online sites work. Once you get up to the top, there is a little memorabilia room that gives the history of the hotel. Then you go out to the deck. It's a great view and the telescopes on each corner work surprisingly well. A quick trip to see just how beautiful the city is. ‬

‪Taking an Elevator to the Top of Foshay Tower‬

‪Good trip. We arrived at approximately 12:30 pm and made our way inside the hotel to buy our tickets. Parking was a bit tricky to come by, and we had to park a block away on the street because their wasn’t anything closer. We made our way inside the building, bought our tickets and received a special key card that took us to the observation deck. There was a small room at the top of the tower, that contained numerous pictures and old newspaper articles relating to the tower. The observation tower consisted of 360 degree views of downtown Minneapolis, with several binoculars in the corners of the tower.

Tip: I recommend spending 15 minutes here if you truly want to see everything.‬

‪The building shown in this photo is not Foshay Tower. It is Capella Tower which is taller than the Foshay Tower. Foshay Tower was built around 1930 while Capella Tower was built in 1992. You can tell by the style of architecture between those two eras. Capella Tower is one of three tallest skyscrapers in Minneapolis. The other two are the Wells Fargo Tower and the IDS Center, very heady companions within a few feet height among the three towers.‬

‪Der er en rigtig god udsigt over Twin Cities fra toppen af Foshay, men der er ikke meget plads deroppe. Man kan lige nøjagtigt passere andre når man går rundt deroppe. Gode muligheder for at få billeder, da man kan række kameraet gennem sikkerhedsgitteret deroppe.

Man køber billet og tager med elevatoren fra lobbyen på hotellet 'W Minneapolis' som ligger i bygningen.‬

‪I stayed at the W hotel which is housed in Foshay Tower. It is shaped intentionally like the Washington Monument. There is a museum and observation deck on the top floor. Views are beautiful. ‬

‪The Foshay Tower, now the W Minneapolis – The Foshay hotel, is a skyscraper in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Modeled after the Washington Monument, the building was completed in 1929, months before the stock market crash in October of that year. It has 32 floors and stands 447 feet (136 m) high, and up until 1972 it was the tallest building in Minneapolis. With the antenna mast the total height is 185m. The tower gets its name from Foshay Tower art student turned businessman Wilbur Foshay.
It costs US$10 to go up to the observation deck and small museum at the top of Foshay Tower. On a clear day you get good 360' views of Minneapolis and the museum has some interesting artifacts about the history of the Tower and Wilbur Foshay's journey. The elevators are cool art deco and the 'W' lobby is also rather plush.‬

‪$10 to ride up. Worth it. Small museum up top and great outdoor views of the city. Visited on gorgeous October morning and it was not busy. The W staff are super.‬
