What a super cool place!! Wonderful spot for lunch! Everything was homemade. Desserts where absolutely fabulous. And the staff was so helpful.

Don't get me wrong, I did buy somethings, which are things that I have not seen in my travels, but, if you are looking for a place that has Minnesota items, there are and is a chain that sells better priced items, more how shall I say, of better style than here. The items that did show promise was over priced and did not have much for size selection. They did have a lot more knick knacky stuff available and home decor. They had food items too, but nothing that other stores have. Not much for men as far as shopping. Caters more to women and children. Much much selection for retro candy. Many staff at the ready to answer questions, check out lady was really nice. I think that they are looking to cash in on visitors who don't know better.

I’ve been to the General Store many times and it is my go-to for fun and unique gifts, especially if I’m looking for a Minnesota themed item. I could get lost in here for hours - there is so much to look at! The first time I came here I was a little confused about the layout, but there are so many nooks and crannies to find things. Love this store and anytime someone visits from out of state, we end up here!

After choosing a gift basket from the website, I called and spoke with Teresa who was very efficient and took my order and arranged delivery. The items in the basket are a collection of local food items, a cookbook and delicious chocolates and candies. The items sold at The General Store are wonderful and the service is always fabulous.

Love The General Store. It is huge with a lot of gifts for people of all ages. Food, decor, clothes, toys a little bit of everything. They are pricey but quality unique gifts are worth it.

What a fun place to spend some time and a bit of money. I loved the eclectic selection of goods and the quality of the merchandise. The restaurant is a great place to have a light bite and rest your feet. I will definitely return. I am glad my friend who lives in Minneapolis brought me here, because I would not have otherwise visited.

The general store is a bit of home decorating, women's clothing and food. There are enough things to look at for men but barely. It's a women's store more than anything else. I liked looking at the Christmas decorations and kitchen supplies. A nice way to spend time with my spouse and a place for a cold day.

This place doesn't sell hardware or tools, but sure has everything you can think of or want for the house and kitchen. They have a huge variety of just about everything from kitchen gadgets, spices, sauces, jellies, jams, nuts, decorations for the yard n house, Minnesota's famous wild rice. There's soooo much, it can be overwhelming, but sure is fun to see all the items available. Be sure to take your time and maybe go thru the whole place twice so you don't miss anything and be sure to go up to the second floor. This is a great place for gift buying all year round, especially for the holidays and or that special person. This isn't some place like a mall where you have to go because you need something, this place is a place to go because you will like shopping here and I would find it very hard to believe that you would leave this place without purchasing anything.

Holy cow, this place is PACKED with stuff. It was almost overwhelming. Then we realized there was an upstairs! We went there for a bite to eat on the way to Paisley Park and browsed for souvenirs. The food was great! They have quite possibly the largest amount of Minnesota related items you could ever imagine.
