Driving around on a Saturday morning we came across this local gem! Loved the local art on display as well as the shelves of local crafts and goods available for purchase! There was crafts that the community was invited to participate in as well. Spent a great relaxing hour here and hope to make it back some day

Was pleasantly surprised with the great artwork on display and for sale. Nice to have a local person there to answer questions.

This is a nice gift shop/ art gallery with some unique products like a book on the murals in Wadena, chocolate bars from Iceland and cloudberry jam. The foods seemed a bit expensive. Considering that they are imported, the price is probably about right. I also visited the sculpture park mentioned by a previous reviewer.

I have attended a few very interesting presentations, great concerts, and wonderful exhibits. Beautiful buildings built in the late 1800s. Lots of light and plenty of room. They have a nice little gift shop. Lots of goods by local artists, plenty of books, Finnish and Scandanavian candies, and lots more. Betsy and Cheryl are very good at what they do and you can tell they care deeply about the New York Mills community.

We used the Red Barn in the Sculpture Park just off the highway for a family gathering. I understand this is a part of the Cultural Center as I could not find a separate listing. The Red Barn is basically a picnic shelter with running water and electricity, very comfortable. There’s lots of room for kids to run around outside, and the sculptures are fun and sturdy. It was a great central location for our family coming in from all directions, about a three hour drive from the Twin Cities.

Intersting store to browse. Many books written by Finnish authors or about Finnish history. Take your time to look around, this store lets us look into a past from a long time ago. A nice way to spend a few hours.

We have stayed there many years and always look forward to coming again. Jann is a wonderful hostess and a great cook. The railroad cars have been lovingly restored into beautiful private cars that anybody would enjoy staying. The old Victorian house also has several rooms in railroad theme and are quite comfy and cozy. You won't go wrong staying there.

They had a lot of information about fishing in the area and had a nice display of fishing lure's. They also had some old ice houses for fishing, and fly fishing rods. The women working at the desk was very helpful, and told us a lot about the town of New York Mills.

We really went in to find things to do in the area as well as dining. They were very helpful and recommended the Cactus restaurant. which we went and it was great as well

The exhibits here are ever changing. What a lovely treasure in this cute town. Staff is always cheerful and helpful. In addition to the art and exhibits there is a wonderful gift shop.
