Took the grand kids along, we all dressed up and tried to blend in!
We tried, napping flints, blowing horns and archery before watching a very entertaining and enthusiastic battle between the two groups!
Great day out, and,,,, we all learned stuff! :-)

I was bit sceptical at first as We had some issues returning tickets (me and my partner double bought) but once we arrived to the Farm I'm taking my hesitation back.
We had fantastic time, took as away from our problems, work and our mind stayed tuned with whole place which was just an incredible experience.
I'm 35 weeks pregnant and had lovely volunteer approaching me letting me know that I can use disabled toilets without queue obviously not pushing in fron of people who need it more, which was lovely as so far not many people gave me that kind of attention and at this stage I really really appreciated it!
The whole event was amazingly organised, for a sold out event it wasn't over crowded which just shows that this is done for the love of the place not just money, some food stalls had long queues but if you didn't want to wait around there were other choices with barely any queue. We popped our wishes on the boat and we really enjoyed watching it burn, it help the weather was just stunning yesterday!
We than had ti walk back to the car park at Country Park, we joined the procession, and we met with lovely volunteer called James who lit the path for us and even took as as far as the fron of the car park where w left our car, he was a star!
All in all I can't recommend this place enough and I will definitely visit again. Felt included and really relaxed. Thank you!
Ps. The chai late from a little coffee trailer was so delicious 🤤

We visited with daughter-in-law and grandsons aged 6 and 3. It was such a delightful morning, not too busy so not worried about losing the 3 year old! The boys fed the sheep and the goats (they ate the bag as well which was a bit of a surprise!), made clay beads, dyed and designed chalk rocks, made mosaics and picked black berries. They loved running in and out of the dwellings and we were very happy with the experience. We enjoyed our picnic there and had a very good coffee. The loos were clean and hand washing facilities very accessible. Thoroughly recommended. Thank you to all the interesting, friendly and enthusiastic volunteers.

First time visiting Busters Ancient Farm and really enjoyed it. We lucked out with the weather and had the sunniest day with blue sky, all the staff were so friendly and helpful. Was lovely to learn new skills and explore the different houses from different era's of time. Would recommend!

travelled about an hour or so,didnt eat beforehand as wanted to eat as a family and we were meeting some there,arrived to find 5 sandwiches on offer and no chance of any more as lady said they were too busy,2.50 for a packet of crisps,no savoury snacks,smoke filled buildings not appreciated as came away smelling of smoke and sore eyes,my granddaughter aslo didnt stop coughing....disappointed ...made contact via email but reply basically said hope we took something positive from our day,answer is nothing positive,just disappointed.

Hi Darryl, thank you for this review. I’m very sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy your visit to us! I completely understand your desire for more food options; we’d love to be able to have our own café or tea room, and it’s something we’re actively working towards, but unfortunately as a small, independent not-for-profit we’re still very much recovering from Covid. In the meantime, we like to support local bakeries and suppliers, which is unfortunately more expensive, but do remember you’re always welcome to bring your own food and use our picnic benches if you prefer.
We're working hard to be able to improve our food options at Butser, and in the meantime to avoid confusion we have clear information about what's on offer in the Visit section of our website. You can also find information on what to expect from our authentic buildings in the same area.

Had a fantastic day, the staff were all very informative and helpful, learnt so much. Even the rain didn't matter as we could shelter in the Round Houses, plenty to see and do. Very educational for children and activities to do.

What a great day. The attraction is quite small, but we spent the entire day there filled with things to do and experience. The Staff were amazing! Big shout out to Andrew for his story telling and (sorry, didn’t catch your name) the wool spinning lady!
Both went above and beyond to give our son the full authentic experience!
Our little boy 7 had a great time and we made a video of our day for him to take to Beavers to go for a badge!
The weather was changeable, but there are plenty of opportunities to get out of the rain. It wasn’t too busy and toward the end of the day it was just so peaceful! We stayed until they kicked us out as they wanted to go home! 🤣
We shall be going again and perhaps booking some of the more ‘involved’ activities.

We had the most wonderful day here today made so much more special by the lovely staff that work here.
They were all so friendly and informative and allowed us to try out some special things since it was quiet at the farm.
We’ve learnt so much and, despite the rain, it’s been a really enjoyable day. We were the last to leave!

We visited BAF with our granddaughters, aged 2 and 6. We spent a good 5 hours here, having a lovely time. It’s such a beautiful, peaceful setting in the glorious South Downs; you feel transported back in time and can really imagine what life was like in the past. The staff (many volunteers) were very friendly and helpful. They were wonderful with the children who joined in with the free activities on offer that day. The Roman Villa is a fantastic addition. Thoroughly recommend.
PS. Useful tip…we bought our tickets through Hampshire Attractions which offers a 15% discount.

A fascinating place, staffed by friendly and knowledgeable people whose welcome is warm.
We particularly enjoyed the Roman villa, which is a very thorough and convincing reconstruction of a typical Romano-British villa.

As always, this depends on one’s interests. If you are interested in history, technology, fresh air, livestock,and/or archeology, this should be fascinating. If nothing else, it’s a pleasant country stroll.
