The Ridgmont Heritage Centre is just off the A507 near the Amazon warehouse. It is in the station building.
There are plenty of things to see showing the history of the station and the Marston Vale line. There are lots of pix from the steam era as well as more recent pictures up to the more recent age.
There are is a gift shop which has lots of things to buy.
I received a friendly welcome and the volunteer was happy to answer any questions I had.

Absolutely beautiful station house dressed with exquisite china, a real step back in time to the forties/fifties. Beautiful surroundings serving fabulous food. Can't wait for it to reopen

We went to Ridgmont Station tea room, following recommendations, for a birthday celebration for my father in law, who is partial to cake...
A warm welcome was had, along with copious amounts of tea and coffee. Sandwiches came first, on the freshest bread we’ve had for a high tea, lemon posset followed, before the most moistest of scones with clotted cream, jam and chocolate coated strawberries and little meringues. Such was the sheer amount of food, we ended up with a doggie bag. Fabulous crockery, great service and wonderfully decorated rooms.
Would highly recommend,
They only take cash...

This is a beautiful small tearooms in what was the old station house where the trains still stop...The interior is set in time and enhanced with lovely bone china which your food is served on and tea etc the music of the era playing in the background...Have been on two occasions first time a beautiful lunch and this last sunday we booked for the festive high tea..And it was scrumptious.first mulled wine .assorted sandwiches mini quiche..beautiful panacotta with compote..a variety of mince pies assorted xmas delights.and the best scones ever all warm with vast amount of clotted cream and strawberry jam...Heaven !!!Then lovely china teapots full of English tea and also coffee....so much ..but it was a lovely one off treat...The staff amazing customer service attitude....nothing too much trouble..YOU HAVE TO BOOK most times to guarantee a table as its very limited..You should all try it...Fabulous experience...Forgot to tell you too about the homemade scrumptious cakes....

Arrived with my elderly mother-in-law after a freezing morning of shopping to be greeted by a friendly and warm atmosphere.
We went to the tearoom and had a lovely big pot of tea. My MIL had a piece of home made cherry and almond cake while I had a toasties. The cake was a nice big chunk which would normally be too much for her but she enjoyed it so much she ate the lot. My toastie came with some vegetable chips and salad.
After, we asked to see the booking room and the lovely gentleman took us through. He was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour.
The gift shop had a few unusual gifts and souvenirs
This is a very small place but organised really well that you feel you have gone back in time. Well worth a visit and I will definitely be back for an afternoon tea

Off the beaten track and not what you'd expect! Lovely couple who greeted us and both full of knowledge, good display of information and small shop. We combined our visit with a trip to the tea room.

This is a very small attraction. I think it used to be a ticket and waiting room. There is now a tea room in it which seems to take up all the space. Sometimes they have small exhibitions and children’s activities organised around Halloween, Christmas and Easter theme..
Inside you do not get the feeling you are going back to a bygone era. It is all rather cramped and difficult to get around in. I think the outside looks much better and you perhaps get the essence of what it must have been all about.
Around Ridgmont station there is nothing to do as there is a giant Amazon Warehouse on one side and the M1 junction on the other.
You have to let your imagination turn the clock back 70 years to appreciate the station's hayday. Obviously the volunteers do there best to preserve it.

Dear joe_green
Thanks for your review - reading your comment I can only imagine that you didn't get to see all we have to offer - perhaps you only visited one of the tea rooms?
You're correct when you say one of the tea rooms used to be one of the waiting rooms - in fact Tea Room 1 is the former Ladies (only) Waiting Room (the Gentlemen had to make do in the outside shelter or in the public ticket office). Tea Room 2 has various heritage items on display and was, in fact, part of the Station House where the Station Master lived with his family, as also was the room now containing the gift shop. Through the gift shop you can access the restored 1846 ticket office, where we have varying pictorial and artifact displays relating to the history of the Marston Vale line, and of the families that lived and worked at the Station House, as well as ticketing and signalling equipment and other items of interest. Entrance to the booking office is usually led by one of our enthusiastic volunteers, who tell the story, some of whom have connections with the station from the past.
Out on the platform we have a restored London & North Western Railway platform seat, which demonstrates the style of seating from Victorian/Edwardian times.
In the locality we have a number of walks of varying distances and interests, including one that encompasses Woburn Safari Park - leaflets/guides are under development and will be available for these walks in the future.
We may be a small site but we try to pack in as much as possible, and will continue to add to the collections on display as time and finances permit.
