Read the website which says it has Open Mic every Thursday night. Stopped by tonight at 7:30pm and the place was locked and deserted. So disappointing!

Coming through Jackson on my return to Australia with the main purpose to visit Underground 119. I was not disappointed! Great band, great atmosphere, great food and service and such a lovely clientele.

I was in town for the State Fair and I started to search for a place to have a drink with friends with great atmosphere and that’s when I found Underground 119. The staff was so friendly and attentive. The people there was a mix of millennial, Gen X and baby boomers. It doesn’t matter what category you are, everyone was enjoying a night out. The band was very good. I travel the state and I usually look for blues and their music kept everyone asking for more and dancing. Despite of the negativity that Jackson, MS receives, there are good things to see and do. It’s just another typical American city with ups and downs. I cannot wait to be back in town and visit Underground 119 again. Thank you for proving that great atmosphere to locals and visitors.

We hebben in Underground 119 gegeten en daarna een prima blues sessie gehoord.
Het eten was eenvoudig maar goed; een perfect gegrilde hamburger.
Het optreden werd verzorgd door prima artiesten. Zij boden ook de gelegenheid voor vrijwilligers om mee te spelen. Dat leverde een aantal leuke verrassingen.
Er was duidelijk veel aandacht voor de veiligheid van de gasten, zowel in de zaal als bij het weggaan. Kortom, een echte aanrader in Jackson, Mississippi.

The band was good but not great. overall stay was enjoyable. We did not try the food were there for the drinks and music.

Our hotel staff suggested this place. Easy quick walk from hotel. Unexpected - food was very good. Had fried green tomatoes and red/beans and rice with sausage. Met some nice locals there. Stayed and partied with them,listening to a local musician/band. Fun music. A bit crowded later on. Not enough seating as the night grew later, and people would try to squeeze in on your table. But othe than that - we had a blast. Will definitely go again.

The place is nice, with a mature audience, the music was beautiful, concidering this was a Tuesday night thing were beautiful....no complaints this was

I have played music at 119 many times. The venue is nice, has built in sound gear which I like. The food has always been great and the staff and management is always helpful and attentive......

Esse lugar é uma delícia! Vale muito a pena conhecer! Pequeno , frequentado por locais, com ótimos petiscos e drinks, mas há pratos para um jantar completo caso queira. Show de blues de primeira!

We were going through Jackson on a business trip and the staff at hotel suggested this restaurant. The best grits I have had anywhere. Wife had the shrimp and grits and I had the crawfish and shrimp penne. Both were excellent. When I go again, I will have the shrimp and grits.
The wait staff was ok. Not very attentive to refills and we were the only people eating at table side.
The blues pre-recorded music during dinner was great and although we did not stay for the live band, we had heard they were great.
Would recommend to anyone wanting good food and a relaxing atmosphere.
