This is a superlative military museum. The staff is friendly and there are great historical displays oriented for all ages.

My husband and I visited this museum with our friends; one of our friends served in the Army. When we entered the museum, we were greeted by the wonderful and friendly volunteers, most of whom are veterans. We spent almost 2 hours in this small museum because there is so much to see. There are exhibits from the Civil War, WW1, WW2, Korean War and Vietnam War. All branches of the service are on display at the museum. I knew my husband would enjoy all this military memorabilia but I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed seeing and learning about all of it too. We were so lucky to meet Mike Wright, a Vietnam veteran, and Jimmy Bass, a 96 yr. old WW2 veteran. Their stories connect you to each exhibit and give you a glance into the lives of these special Americans who served in the military. If you are in the area, I highly suggest that you spend a few hours visiting this museum. Check hours before your visit since they are only open Wednesday through Saturday. Admission is free but drop a donation in their donation box to show your gratitude. Mr. Jimmy told us that they have a storage building full of more items that have been donated and that they are trying to raise enough money for an additional building. I hope to see this happen in the next few years. Thanks to the veterans!

Although I am a Vietnam Veteran I honor and respect all who have served our country especially those who gave their life. This museum has a great display from several wars especially ww1 and ww2. If you read all the articles plan on several hours. You can touch items and Mr Bass was very inviting and knowledgeable. I enjoyed this very much.

The exhibits are wonderful so much to see very clean, very knowledgeable excellent volunteers. I specially enjoyed the uniforms exhibit & the stories inside

beautiful area to stop and take it in. Beautiful downtown area and this adds to it well. Enjoy and take it in.

Museum is relatively small but has a ton of stuff to see. Very well displayed and very educational. Excellent for children. Staff are very knowledgeable and friendly.

We enjoyed looking around a bit. There are so many articles displayed that it is a bit overwhelming. The very best part were the curators. We enjoyed talking with Jimmy Bass, a veteran from WWII who shared some stores and showed some displays we would have overlooked.

My wife and I visited the museum in the morning and were the only ones there. There were many artifacts to see that were donated by war veterans and their families. Most were of WWII but there were also many Viet Nam and a few WW! artifacts. There were newspaper clippings about the men who served that were either killed or received medals for their service. It was a vivid reminder of the sacrifices those in uniform make to keep us free. You can spend a lot of time there or just take a quick walk through. We talked with the ladies who worked there who were very knowledgeable and interesting to talk to. My wife talked to a Viet Nam veteran who was working there. Everyone we met in Laurel were friendly and a pleasure to talk to.

My husband and I are both retired from the US Air Force Reserve and Active Duty. The museum is loaded with memorabilia and donated items from family and military members from the Civil War to current. When you come in the door you are greeted by a row of manikins dressed in a variety of military uniforms. I noted there wasn't a female Air Force uniform and offered to donate mine, provided I still have it. I certainly wouldn't be able to get into it anymore. I might not have the uniform but I do have my black leather purse that was issued to me in 1972 and my beret hat. Definitely a place to visit, staffed by volunteers and donations.

This is something to see! Take a walk through and look at the memorabilia throughout that depicts different times in history. Each of the volunteers have so much to share about these brave men and women. Most of them are veterans themselves. It is definitely a place for the young to learn about history, and the old to relive a moment in time!
