Our family of 8 from Kansas had a wonderful time walking in the surf, looking for shells, building sand castles and tossing the football. The beach was clean and not very busy with a great view of the causeway.

People enjoying swimming, fishing, and volleyball. Lovely sunset surrounded a couple getting engaged. Everyone applauded when she said yes!

Pretty much a local's beach. A fishing pier at the south end of the beach near the boat launch. Nice view of Biloxi and Deer Island.

Clean beach with easy parking and access. Port-a-potties for relief are well placed. Delightfully laid out and room for all. Very dog friendly.

Although we frequent the Florida panhandle & Alabama beaches, we were in the area camping & thought we’d take a look at this dog-friendly beach. It was November but extremely pleasant weather.
It is obvious the city works hard to make this beach nice, with a long fishing pier and new sidewalk that runs the entire length of the beach. It was obvious the sand had been trucked in to give the illusion of a white sand beach like Alabama & Florida, but it was still nice. Also, the water is not the Gulf of Mexico, but rather Biloxi Bay; so don’t expect it to be clear.
However, the area was so well-kept & it is apparent the city has put a lot of money into making it nice. There are fire pits on the beach as well as a nice playground. Even in November there was a considerable number of people enjoying the beautiful day.
While I don’t think I would come here for the beach alone with so many more beautiful ones within a short drive, I would definitely come back if in the area.

Easy parking. Beautiful homes and a children’s park. Pier is good to walk. Safe but know your location. Will return. Good walking path.

Breathtaking view of the water and gorgeous majestic homes along the water. Made for a very lovely drive.

We were surprised by how much we enjoyed this beach! We have 3 young kids (ages 11, 9, 5) and they loved playing in the water and the sand. It was very quiet and private, especially if you go farther away from the pier. The water was very warm and shallow without large waves (at the end of the summer, first week of August), which made it safer for my youngest/inexperienced swimmer. The only reason we gave it 4/5 stars is because the water is brownish, instead of clear blue (this is because of the minerals). However, the sand was white and soft. We kept going back to this beach throughout our trip because we liked it so much. We’ll definitely vacation here at Ocean Springs again!

I come here only for my dogs. Since Harrison county (Biloxi / Gulfport ) is not allowed to bring dogs on beach, this is the best place to take pups walk on the sands.

A great place to enjoy the Mississippi sound with our dog. This is a clean place and well managed. Work is going on to repair the storm damage to the pier and it looks as though it will be open soon.

Where exactly is front beach. We are coming end of June to a gambling trio but wanted to take a day on the beach. Ocean springs has the national seashore, but I have hesard that is in Pensacola? Fl?

The first answer is the Park is here in Ocean Springs, not in Pensacola. It's beautiful! and you will enjoy it. Front beach is the beach located in Ocean Springs. If you are staying in one of the casinos in Biloxi, all you need to do is drive across the Biloxi/Ocean Springs bridge and take a right at the end of the bridge in Ocean Springs. Follow the road to the right and you are there! You will see the Yact Club where the beach starts. It is quiet, it is clean. There are very small outdoor "showers" (just running water) so you don't have to track sand into your car. No charges for parking anywhere along in the beach in Ocean Springs or Biloxi. I hope you have a wonderful time!

It is a sand beach. The sand is not sparkling white nor is it dark and coarse. The water gradually becomes deeper as you move out from the beach. You'll see shells and crabs! You will see boats pass and shore birds. My answer to swimming is yes, you can swim but be aware of jellyfish or dangerous currents. The locals will be friendly and helpful. If Front Beach is too small just move west to Biloxi or Gulfport for much larger beaches! Come and enjoy!
