Short visit off a riverboat cruise. An amazing musuem with so many interesting exhibits. Everything is well done and easy to understand. This place is a gem! If you are close by it is well worth a visit.

We knew the building was closed but decided to stop anyway because the nature trail sounded interesting - it is mostly a boardwalk. Apparently it hasn't seen any maintenance in years. It was completely blocked by trees growing right up thru it, many of which are more than 2 inches in diameter. If the condition of the trail is indictive of the condition of the exhibits in the museum, don't waste your time.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the museum. Both ladies in the reception area were quite pleasant. The exhibits were well done and the curator/director of the museum, Mr. Richard Taylor, was kind enough to spend time with us discussing the history of the area. Time well spent.

Nice local museum, free of charge. Covers history from time of the native Americans, and includes taking of land by the whites, pre and post civil war, and everything up to the influx of the casinos. They have a nice mix of history, culture, art, and natural life. Clearly written from a white mans bias. Some exhibits gave poorly written explanations that are hard to follow. A nice initiative that could use some broadening of viewpoints.

Great place to learn about the area through very well done displays and informational displays. Had a wonderful dialogue with the director who was very eager to tell us more about the area and what is going on in further finds. Great time

To be honest, we weren't expecting much from a museum this size, but were very pleasantly surprised. The displays were well-done and informative (make sure you don't miss the mule!), as were the pictures and documents. We liked the way things were personalized by including the stories of local citizens/soldiers. Another aspect that appealed to us was the history of Tunica's development as a gambling center. I think some of the bad times were glossed over, but that's their choice. You will find extremely helpful and knowledgeable people working there.

the muesum was free to visit. this museum was very educational which talk about the history of mississippi. at the end tour of the museum u can donate to the museum if u want to.
