This was such a great museum! If you are on a “blues tour” of the Delta, then this makes sense as a first stop if you can sort it. It’s possible that this museum presents information that you already know if you’re a deep fan of the blues, but it’s still a great overview and provides an excellent framework for the rest of the trip. It takes about an hour to get through everything and it’s a solid hour. Don’t miss this if you are interested in the blues at all!

We really enjoyed this small but very informative museum. The staff was very helpful. It was clean and inviting. I would definitely recommend a visit if you like blues history.

An excellent selection of Delta blues memorabilia, illustrating the complete story from the days of slavery to today. Clean, modern, well organized, with clear readable signage. Hits all the major events and themes without getting bogged down in minutiae. The videos that tell the tale are very professionally done. A number of nice hands-on opportunities to play instruments, and a little recording studio where you can write and record your own blues song! The fronting building is a historic rail station from the area.
The lady behind the counter -- I think her name was April -- was very knowledgeable, very friendly, and very helpful. All around a first-rate experience; recommends to all music lovers!

The visitor center and gift shop is your first point of contact. There are unique items for sale. If you are interested in the museum, it is $10 per person. We spent about 1 1/2 hours in the museum. It gives the history of the Mississippi Delta area and Blues. There are placards, TVs with recorded videos, a few hands on instruments, and a recording studio if you want to give a song a try. There are guitars, some autographed, displayed. There were more names we recognized than we thought we would. We enjoyed it and recommend visiting.

Nice little gift shop with some overpriced stuff just what I was looking for. I took the tour of the blues museum and while I'm not fan of the blues I did find it neat to look at some of the old stuff they had there. I just think the price could have been about half of what they charge.

Very impressive exhibit! Plenty to learn about the history of Blues with interactive opportunities to try instruments out. I learned a lot. The ladies who work there are very kind and helpful! I would highly recommend!

This was a planned stop for Us as we were traveling the Blues Highway and we were not disappointed. The staff could not have been any more helpful and friendly. Providing information on the museum, the local area and where we could locate more information on Route 61. The museum is housed in an 1895 old railroad depot, the museum is fronted by a visitor’s center and small gift shop.
There is a fee $10/adults & $5/children. There are several interpretive and informative videos to watch as you walk throughout the museum. There are also several displays where you can try your hand at some of the instruments. There is lot's of information about the men and women who birthed the blues.
The influence the blues had on many of rocks early bands such as the Beatles, Eric Clapton and the Rolling Stones to name a few is provided as well. You can even create your own blues song if the urge hit's you during your visit. There is also a large display of guitars as well as harmonica's and other instruments used by famous (and not-so-famous) musicians.
Check with the Museum regarding hours during the current pandemic. They advertise that they are open daily, but best to check.

Not expecting much, we were blown away by the upscale, rich presentations in this little gem of a museum! Housed in an 1895 old railroad depot, the museum is fronted by a visitor’s center and small gift shop. There is a fee into the museum of $10/adults & $5/children. I’m not sure children would get much out of it unless they were with an adult who could bring the rich history of the region to life for them. There are several interpretive and informative videos to watch inside as you pass from display to display. Dozens of stories about the men and women who birthed the blues and carried it throughout the 1970s with the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, and other British groups who based their music on the Southern Blues interpreting it to make it their own. There is also a large display of guitars used by famous (and not-so-famous) musicians. Fall/Winter hours: Open Monday- Friday 8:30-5 PM; Saturday 10 AM-5 PM; Sunday 1-5 PM.

This place is pretty cool!! Very nice inside compared to the looks of it on the outside!! Very friendly and helpful staff inside. They gave us some (in the travel guides) some coupons to use for meals and such at the Casinos in the area and that was a good deal for sure. Looked like a nice museum also there but we did not go in. Nice shirts and some souvenirs on sale there as well. You definitely want to stop here if you are in the area. Its just right off of the highway there.

Are the hours for the museum and the visitor's center the same? We will be going during Summer hours.
I won't be able to do the museum but want to go to the visitor's center for a few souvenirs. Thanks
