‪Lovely nature reserve with beautiful walks. Great photos of the pit head from above it. Unfortunately the engine rooms weren't open but the cafe was, manned by lovely friendly staff and a great choice of hot and vold food.‬

‪Lovely cafe at the end of an hours walk ‬

‪After parking at Hardwick Hall we set off towards the Treaversal Trail and after an hour walking came to the Pit and its workings we had a well earned refreshment in the new cafe which was bright and clean with lovely staff serving and then returned to Hardwick Well worth a visit to see the impressive pit workings ‬

‪Labour of love to save a bit of English social and industrial history‬

‪The winding house with the machinery is a fascinating testament to a group of hard working volunteers trying to preserve part of their history. Years of hard graft with reducing numbers and tight finances has produced a really impressive museum. Personal tour with one of volunteers was really informative and a laugh. Finished off with a bowl of chips and coffee in the volunteers cafe. Well worth a visit and donation.‬

‪Good to see the new cafe reopened‬

‪مايو 2021‬

‪We visited the old building just before lockdown. It was good to revisit and be in the new building. We were served lovely hot drinks and shortbread with chocolate chips in. It was a very clean cafe with pleasant volunteers, 2 of whom we talked with. The prices are ridiculously cheap. We hope to visit again soon when walking in the area, which we often are.‬
