C'est toujours intéressant à voir si vous passez à côté. 15 min maxi sont suffisantes. Le monument est très bien conservé. Dommage qu'il n'y ait que ça à voir.

Très beau tumulus, bien conservé.

Super archaelogical site, beautiful area, nicely marked and interpreted. It was interesting and a lovely spot!

Pour les amateurs de vestiges du néolithique,mais aussi pour les autres, ce site est exceptionnel par son état de conservation : rares sont les allées couvertes encore couvertes à ce point ! Cela permet de bien se rendre compte de ce que pouvait être ce type de site à l'origine. De plus, l'endroit est bien organisé, propre, avec un panneau explicatif clair.

Un très beau dolmen en forme de V, sous une partie de son cairn en pierre. Il faut s'incliner pour entrer à l'intérieur, ce qui oblige plusieurs milliers d'années après sa construction à faire hommage à la stèle placée au fond de l'édifice. On peut se garer facilement à proximité et les panneaux explicatifs sont bien faits. Il appartient à la Société archéologique du Finistère (borne en pierre à proximité du dolmen).

On the northern outskirts of the village of Brennilis, about 10 minutes drive from Mougau is this monument that is not to be missed if you're travelling across Brittany.
This is the remain of a rare Neolithic dolmen in V form, still mostly buried under its mound. It has been dated to about 3000 BC. This kind of dolmen is thought to be a transitional stage between dolmens with entry passage (dolmen à couloir) and allée couvertes. It is of an oval shape, approximately 17 metres long by 6 metres wide, and still up to 3 metres in heigh. Unfortunately the back end is cut by a wall and a field boundary. The chamber has a South-East orientation and it is about 15 metres long and varies in widths from about 1 metre at the entrance to nearly 3 at full width. The eight also varied from about a metre to 1.75. The chamber opens at 125°. The main part or the chamber is covered with three massive capstone, and has within it a standing stone which doesn't quite reach the roof. Perhaps a stele, as found in the more ancient burial chambers of the dolmens à couloir, but not smoothed and sculpted, or perhaps the remain of an internal wall. Outside the chamber, the mound is almost complete, and even comes with most of its surrounding peristalith of stones.

Si vous êtes dans le quartier c est l occasion d'y aller, la visite dure 5- 10 min . L endroit reste original.
