We walk here every other day during good weather months. Great park and good for all ages and groups.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Kansas City. Our highlights would be going to the Nelson Atkins Art museum. It was fabulous. We also drove 30 minutes away to tour the Truman Presidential Library which was recently renovated and very informative. You can tour his home in Independence, as well. The Kaufman garden was lovely and Country Club Plaza had loads of restaurants with outdoor seating, nice shops and interesting architecture. We were only there a few days so didn't have time for a lot more but would have gone to the World War I museum and the Contemporary Art museum.

Peaceful, romantic, stop and smell the roses. The "Rose Gardens" are beautiful as well as peaceful and a good place to just sit and meditate.

This Charming Park is A Local Favorite for Wedding Photography in the Rose Garden. However, With Features Such as a Lake and Mature Trees, It Offers A Nice Walking Location in Any Season. The Location on Wornall Road is Relatively Close to the Restaurants and Shops of the Country Club Plaza.

Quite a pretty little park. On a Sunday before flight out spent some time wandering around and then sat reading by one of the lake fountains for awhile. Small demerit - people who design park benches should sit in them for a bit / some get it, some don't. This designer didn't quite.

Had out picnic lunch here and really enjoyed the sunny cool day. Parking on a Saturday was super tough.

We walked over to Loose Park, from the Country Club district, to see the rose garden. Unfortunately it was closed, so we could only look into it. It was a very nice garden space.
We wondered around the park a bit, and were very impressed with their flower gardens in general.

I love visiting this park as it is not only 75 acres of beautiful grounds, playgrounds, tennis courts, a rose garden, a pond with a cool bridge for photo opportunities, a reservable picnic shelter but also some very interesting civil war history. The battle of Westport occurred at the site of the current park (roughly 29,000 troops took part in this battle). This park is perfect for a picnic, frisbee or a walk with your dog. My favorite area is the rose garden where you might be lucky to see a wedding or prom pictures being taken. My dad recently passed away and friends donated a bank of roses in his name- very special to me. The best of all, this park has a real sense of community. A real sense of Kansas City!

Can you reserve a picnic table/grill at Loose Park (near the playground?) or are they first come first serve?

I found this on the KC Parks website:
Walk in reservations for the Loose Park shelter only begin at 7 a.m. in the Loose Park Garden Center, 5200 Pennsylvania, and online. Due to the Loose Trust for the park, food trucks are not allowed in Loose Park. Groups renting the shelter may not hire food trucks for their event.
Shelters are available for rental from May 1 through October 31. All reservations are for the entire day (9 a.m. to 10 p.m.). KC Parks is not responsible for technical difficulties when reserving shelters online.
Reservations must be a minimum of three (3) days in advance for the date requested. Cancellations must be made 14 days prior to the reserved date for refund. A $20 fee will be withheld for all shelter refunds.

My daughter inquired and yes weddings can be performed at many places in the park BUT the wait is VERY long typically over 6 months unless you choose a weekday
