The Kauffman Center is a Kansas City jewel.
It was an amazing symphony hall - Helzberg Hall and another beautiful venue for Opera and theatrical performances - Muriel Kaufmann Theatre.
I have been to performances in both.
The Symphony is wonderful and their performances are outstanding.
The Opera hall has great sight views and a state of the art captioning feature at every seat in the house.
Everyone should experience some performances in this wonderful venue!

I attended a spectacular presentation of Handel's Messiah during the holidays. They feature it in the Kauffman, along with The Nutcracker in a different theater. I found it convenient to pay for parking online in advance at the closest parking garage, but some might prefer to park farther away. As a visitor, I found the center a bit disorienting, but they had many staff and volunteers at every turn, so there was always someone on hand to answer my questions. Lovely atmosphere, a bar and snacks available in the outer areas. Gift shop, merch, etc. But the performance was the thing. They had a visiting conductor and visiting vocalists, and it was moving and great.

What an amazing building! Volunteer Ms. Smiley gave us a tour which we greatly enjoyed. Can't wait to go see another performance there.

The building is a real gem for KC. I was happy to take my family and attend the Nature Roars Back event. The staff were fun and kept the place clean and tidy for us to enjoy. Thank you!

Terrible how they are still forcing their customers to wear masks and show vaccine cards. I've attended many shows there in the past; no more. What are to trying to prove by doing this? You lost my business.

Good luck with those mandates. We are done supporting events at the Kauffman. My money my choice! You are hypocrites for claiming you are an "inclusive" organization when you are excluding people who may not be able to get the vaccine or who have already had the virus. At least offer a choice of proof vaccine OR a Covid test for all like St. Louis Symphony has done. We will be supporting them instead!

Helzberg Hall is the one-half of the Kauffman where the Kansas City Symphony plays. The warm maple wood throughout, the excellent seating, the changeable lighting and, of course, the excellent acoustics make for a lovely evening. When I first visited this performance venue not long after it opened, between songs, the singer spoke about the performance hall and then snapped his fingers. I was sitting one level below the back seats and could clearly hear his fingers snap. He made his point.
Last year, I saw the symphony play in concert with the Star Wars movie, “The Empire Strikes Back”. I had seen the movie upon its initial release and it’s my favorite Star Wars movie. Well, to hear the symphony play the soundtrack in all its glory (dialogue is captioned) sent me soaring. It’s one of the best entertainments I have attended.

Not a bad seat in the house! We saw the Nutcracker here and loved it. Easy to park right on site, quick access to the bars, and courteous staff. Be sure to take in the views of the city!

Visitors do dress up ranging from business casual to chic depending upon the performance that they are attending.

I would strongly recommend it. Parking is limited and you could pay at time of parking if spaces are available, but pre-paying by buying on-line is your best bet. You could also do street parking but i would not recommend it

Will be arriving at stadium by taxi from our hotel. Is it easy to find a taxi after game? Have been to 22 stadiums and many do not allow taxis to come close to parks. Dont want to wander in dark after game

Where is the schedule for the concerts? Also, what area is best to stay within walking distance to restaurants, live music?

You can see a schedule by Googling Kauffman Center Events.
Any hotel downtown is a good place to stay to be close to everything. There is a trolley that will take you Union Station/Crown Center going south or the Rivermarket going north. In downtown you have the Power and Light District with lots of restaurants. You'd also be 10 minutes from the Plaza for shopping and more great restaurants.
