‪I'm not a huge baseball fan, but I enjoy going to the games occasionally. This last time my sister and I went through the Hall of Fame, and I was surprised at how interesting it was even for someone who isn't a die hard fan. I watched a video for a few minutes with a crowd of fans, and it was entertaining and enlightening. Seeing the history of baseball - players, uniforms, bats, balls, bases - was interesting and informative.‬

‪The Royals HOF is a nice representation of the teams history. The walls in the lobby are all made of ash with images in them depicting the long history of the Royals.
There are displays and short videos telling the story as well. ‬

‪This is located in the Outfield Experience just beyond the left field corner of the stadium. You must enter the stadium to reach it but admission is free and the displays and films are first quality. ‬

‪I visited the Kansas City Royals Hall of Fame before taking in a day game against the Chicago White Sox. It is located behind left field and is free to enter. There is a "dugout theater" where they are currently showing a short film about the 2015 World Series champion team. The theater is shaped like a dugout and on the end of one bench is a statue of former Kansas City Monarch player Buck O'Neil. I sat by Buck and enjoyed seeing how the team came together to win a championship. The rest of the museum is packed with pictures, displays and memorabilia. Of particular significance is the World Series trophies from 1985 and 2015. I liked the model of Kauffman Stadium that was produced when the stadium underwent extensive renovations.

There is also a section that contains items from the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. Jerseys, hats and other items from the most recent World Baseball Classic are prominently featured. The museum ends at a gift shop before returning to the outfield concourse.

The Hall of Fame isn't huge so it doesn't have to take a long time. If you are a serious Royals or baseball fan there is plenty to hold your interest though. I really enjoyed my visit to the Royals Hall of Fame and think it's a great part of Kauffman Stadium‬

‪The beginning video transports you back in time to the roots of baseball in Kansas City, and sets the stage for the rest of the tour. Those of us who have followed the team for a lifetime will have memories of where they were in the playoff/WS years of the late 70's/1980 & 1985. Very well liad out, and incredible how many people can experience this without feeling rushed or crowded. Well worth coming an hour ahead of a game to see this. ‬

‪Not only did we see the Royals Hall of Fame but we also had a tour of Kauffman Stadium. Seeing the World Series Trophy from both 1985 and 2015 was a real treat. Also displayed were the Gold Glove Trophy's and the Reliever of the year awards. Before going through we were treated to a film about the Royals idea about how to select and develop first rate players. Makes you proud to be a Royals fan. One of the highlights was getting to see the press boxes, dugout, visitors locker room and the media room.‬

‪As an educator, I attended a tour for 27 first through fourth graders at the Kansas City Royals Hall of Fame. (May I mention that they are the WORLD CHAMPIONS! Go Royals!) Our tour guide was Judy and she is a walking, talking, smiling encyclopedia of baseball facts & fun. The day started with 3 educational workshops that taught our students about baseball & geography, baseball & math, and baseball & health/fitness. What's most amazing is that 48 hours later, our students are still talking about the facts that they learned. The retention from the day is incredible! The students had a lunch break (bring your own) and then we had a walking tour. The students & educators all enjoyed seeing the press box, including a ball-sized hole where a baseball came through a window, narrowly missing a reporter until it bounced off the wall & hit him in the head. We're told that he was okay. All enjoyed sitting in the dug-out and seeing the visitor's clubhouse (so much more than a locker room). This was a fantastic day! I believe the Hall of Fame is open before games for anyone with a ticket to the game. Double-check ahead of time. Tours must be scheduled in advance & may require a 20 to 25 person minimum. Ask group sales. I highly recommend the tour for students and suspect that the adult tours are equally entertaining. And we hope that the Royals will hang on to Judy so we can tour with her again soon. She's definitely a World Champion, too!‬
