Yes, the MO History Museum is open to the public & free of charge. Advance reservations are currently required to maintain compliance with City of St. Louis pandemic controls; but it should be relatively easy gain access on the day & time you prefer. Hi Mary, We have an entire gallery devoted to hands-on learning for children ages 2–10. It's called History Clubhouse. Kids get to explore downtown St. Louis, complete with re-creations of iconic buildings that stand up to 15 feet tall. Then they take a trolley ride back in time to serve food at a café during the 1904 World’s Fair, pilot a steamboat on the Mississippi River, and play house in the ancient city of Cahokia. Kids have the chance to dress up in period costumes, put on a puppet show, fish over the edge of a canoe, and so much more—all while experiencing local history. We also offer Storytelling in the Museum on Tuesdays and Saturdays. And it's all available free of charge, just like the rest of the Missouri History Museum! Please note, though, that although the Museum closes at 5pm, the History Clubhouse closes at 4pm daily. We hope you'll find yourself here soon!

Hi Rosanne, Thanks for reaching out. Our two special exhibits, "Muny Memories: 100 Seasons Onstage" and "Panoramas of the City" are both located on the main floor, as are our History Clubhouse and World's Fair gallery. We also have an exhibit about WWI located on our lower level; it will be open through August 26, 2018. So...lots to see and do at the Missouri History Museum even if heights are an issue!

Admission is free, some special exhibits might have a charge. Parking is also free.

There is limited parking in lots located adjacent to our building and more than 400 free parking spaces one and a half blocks from the Museum in a lot across from the Forest Park Visitors Center.
