‪Third Degree Glass Factory (TDGF) was a beautiful venue and a space that my husband and I would 100% recommend for a wedding reception! When we first began looking at venues in the St. Louis area, our goal was to find a beautiful space that offered a memorable experience for our guests within our budget and TDGF fit our needs perfectly. TDGF was responsive and upfront in the quoting process and gave us a clear idea on what our reception would look like.

We began working with Jessica when we first signed our contract and Brooke joined the team about five months before our event. Both Jessica and Brooke worked well within their communications portal and were able to provide thoughtful insights to the needs of our wedding reception.

One thing to consider, Third Degree Glass Factory was still going through a few updates between when we first set our reception date and when our reception was held. This included some wonderful surprises including beautiful high-top tables that matched the bar and new overhead spotlights that allowed for our band to be ‘featured’ a bit more. They also had a couple of items in our contract that were subject to availability such as colored glass centerpieces (which are no longer available), and specific artist's capabilities for glass pieces. These changes did not materially impact our evening, but if you want to adhere to a strict vision, be sure to make TDGF aware of your requests. They are continuing to build out their event experience and we expect that the space will get even better!

The space itself is open, with beautiful exposed brick, glass pieces arranged on walls and hung from the ceiling, and a full on ‘hot shop’ which married an industrial environment with a beautiful canvas upon which we could compose our reception. Our evening included a cocktail hour, unity ceremony, seated dinner, and a live band for 140 guests and the space worked exceptionally well. The large banquet hall had plenty of space, but never felt cavernous for a plated dinner and large dance floor. The glass gallery made for a wonderful setting to have our unity ceremony and cocktail hour—getting to see seasonal art pieces was super unique. The outdoor space was lovely and provided guests with a great place to grab a bit of fresh air and a quiet space over the course of the evening. We had guests coming up to us asking ‘how did you find this place?!’ and ‘I didn’t know something this cool existed!’ The space is open enough to add your own design touch, but is complete enough that you don’t need to do much to make the space feel special.

Highlights of TDGF include the option for a live glass demonstration--we had guests coming up to us throughout the evening telling us how special it was to witness a piece of art being created. It perfectly complemented our cocktail hour after our unity ceremony. The bar program at TDGF was also exceptional. We had two signature cocktails as well as a full bar—the cocktails were well mixed and folks hardly had to wait to get a drink. Their quality and variety of spirits rival standalone bars. TDGF feels like they have invested in an excellent bar program and it shows!

We had a seamless experience working with our vendors and the run of show was well put together and easy to follow. The evening of our reception went off without a hitch and Brooke, our coordinator, was incredibly responsive through the process. Third Degree is evolving for the better and making strides to be the premier event space of St. Louis. Book them now while you still can! ‬

‪Awesome demonstration of glass blowing and explanations about each step of the process. Friendly and very educated glass artisans. Audience has up close viewing but if you prefer, it is also being filmed and you can watch on a monitor. Live music, food and drinks for purchase added to a wonderful experience.‬

‪We held an event there in February 2020. The staff was great to work with in the pre-planning stages, and the art filled atmosphere is super impressive. Would recommend to anyone for an event.‬

‪Well worth the free visit! It’s amazing to see glass art in general, but to see the actual artisans at work made it all the more interesting. My grandfather was a mold maker for Anchor Glass in Elmira Heights NY and since I was a little girl, Glass art fascinated me. I’ve been to a lot of glass art shows and this visit showed me things I’ve never had the chance to see in person!‬

‪I found this gem on TripAdvisor and read the reviews (which are all 4 and 5 stars) and was intrigued. I grew up in St. Louis and come up from Texas a couple time a year to visit my family. We're always looking for something to do and our experience here was just as rewarding as the reviews promised.

When we arrived there was a business event held in the door on the left (as you face the entrance) and we went in the wrong door. We were politely directed to the gallery (go in the door on the left) and we told that we could watch glass being made which sat behind other glass doors.

Now we came in July and we were impressed that sitting out in the heat near furnaces that burn at thousands of degrees was not uncomfortable. My mom is very sensitive to heat and while she was warm, she didn't need to go inside as we watched.

Two lovely ladies, Eva and LaVonne of Snazzy Glass, who rent space to create their own glass were very friendly and explained to us what they were doing and why. As a teacher myself, I was very impressed with their willingness and ability to share information with us. They were receptive to questions while continued to make their drinking glasses.

I decided to create my own piece of glass. This cost me $50 (prices vary depending on what you want to make) and I had Justin as an instructor. He was lovely. I am not a "crafty" person and was nervous about the extreme heat (I can also be a bit of a clutz) but he was encouraging and supportive and very clear about how to be safe. I made a heart with amethyst, sapphire, and white swirled in it. NOTE: it takes about a week to cool (without cracking) but they will ship it home. After shipping and tip (I wanted to let Justin know how much I enjoyed our lesson) I paid $70 for m y experience. It was so worth it.

We went on a Wednesday morning and there was no one else in there. If you plan to go on the weekend and want to create glass, I suggest that you call ahead for an appointment.

I would highly suggest this as a must do for those both living in and visiting St. Louis. We were informed several times that this is a very unique glass factory with how open they are with the public. I have seen other demonstrations in Italy but I have never been able to ask questions and create my own. They offer other lessons and rent space for the public to create their own. Eva and LaVonne sell their creations in the gallery and they say it pays for their expensive hobby.

I was also surprised that they hold events like rehearsal dinners, birthday parties, weddings, etc. and I have seen nothing but good reviews for those as well.

Everyone was friendly and helpful. Go. Browse. Watch. Question. Enjoy.‬

‪This was so much fun! Most glass blowing places you watch the workers create, here you do it with help from the workers. You choose between ornament, orb, or paper weight. 5 of us went and we did all of these. It all turned out so cool! It was $50/person. I would definitely do this again. It’s hot with all the furnaces going, so a cool day might be a good idea! The staff are so nice, helpful, interesting. We were there celebrating my birthday and it was the best present ever! Very unique place to go.‬

‪We did the glass blowing experience to celebrate our anniversary. It was the highlight of the weekend. We had an amazing time and learned a lot. Jeremy, our teacher, was really fun and it was more hands-on than we expected and we were able to create something that was truly ours. The art on display is incredible and shows a wide array of possibilities with glass.‬

‪My mom, daughter and I went to the factory and made 3 beautiful paper weights. The visit was so much fun and very educational. The instructor assigned to us did a fantastic job. This is definitely worth your time to try out alone or with a group.‬
