This is a regular Saturday market that attracts locals and many from around Melbourne. It’s something of a hippie market and that’s just the way we like it.
There are two entrances - one opposite the cafes and one at the bottom.
There is plenty of food, much of which caters to vegetarians and vegans. As well there is coffee and of course the well loved Chai Tent at the top. Across the road is a cafe A Boy Called Sue and the Pub. A new cheese place has also opened.
Much of the clothes is “hippie”’or stalls where people have cleaned out the wardrobe and selling off their wares.
Fresh fruit and vegetable stalls are here and the prices are excellent.
The guy that runs the record stall is a wealth of information so if you’re looking for something special - he’s the man.
The variety of stalls is great and each week you’ll see most of the same but then there are a few different stalls to mix it up.
Buskers playing. Kids exploring. Conversations being had. Bumped into a few friends - as always.
Note: dogs not allowed. Toilets available. Parking can be an issue if you areifenaftern10ammdonplewaembe careful where you park. Bus stop nearby. Wheelchair friendly - but only just. Kid friendly.

I have been a supporter of this market for over 30 years. It is an iconic market and meeting place for locals and visitors. An awesome selection of a wide variety of stalls, fresh produce
and food. The buskers make the atmosphere so special to the feel of the environment.

It is a very nice drive to the market. Very scenic. The market itself is over rated. There were a number of stalls selling imported mass produced goods.
I loved markers and have never come home with an empty trolley. Yesterday, I came home with an empty trolley.

If you want to visit a market with a really different vibe then check this market out open every Saturday. Be prepared to walk as parking is difficult due to the inredible popularity and appeal this market has.

Visited on Saturday morning. Great market. Can’t believe I didn’t know about it beforehand. Easily accessible from Melbourne. Train to Hurstbridge and then free St Andrews Community Bus. Great variety of stalls and nice local cafe and bakery across the road. Will definitely return.

This was my first time at the market, and I love it, great vibe, relaxed and a great range of stalls.
One thing I can't stop thinking about, is the little Peruvian (I think??) beef dumplings I had, they were THE BEST I have ever had!! Fresh and the flavour was out of this world, also gave with the best chilli sauce ever!
Now I have a craving! Being back in Brisbane, I will make it my mission to find something similar!
Can anyone one trip advisor recommend anything?
Cheers, Adrienne from Brisbane.

Meandering around the St Andrews market on a Saturday morning is the perfect way to start the weekend. There are stalls everywhere selling second hand books, produce, candles and essential oils, clothing and hand-made crafts. Grab your eco-friend shopping bags, throw on some comfortable walking shoes and explore everything this market has to offer.
Parking directly next to the market can be tricky so keep an eye out for spots as you drive into town. A little walk never hurt anyone. If visiting in Summer, keep in mind that the market does not operate on total fire ban days.

Hi there, I am not aware of any campsites in St Andrews. There is one in Kinglake which is around 15-20mins from St Andrews - called The Gums, Kinglake. There is also a St Andrews market Facebook community page, if you ask the question someone may be happy for you to park your van on their land :) Its a great market with super friendly people.
