‪A much-needed art museum,‬

‪This was a great effort on many people's part, financial and work wise. It too is worth the time to walk through it. Holly Carlini is the person behind this beautiful restored building.‬

‪A labor of love‬

‪The Prairie Arts Center is certainly a labor of love by the members of North Platte's Creativity Unlimited Arts Council who took a derelict historic building and transformed it into a premiere art center. I have been here many times, for art classes, gallery shows, lectures, community events and receptions, and each time I walk through the doors, I am amazed to find this stunning facility in North Platte.

I am privileged because I have seen the building in all the stages of its transformation - the before, with tumble down walls, debris everywhere, holes in the ceilings, and now, when it is a remarkable destination for the arts in western Nebraska.

The staff and volunteers work hard to keep the calendar full of events, so there is always something new to see. Besides the main gallery, there is the focus gallery and the great hall for exhibit space. In the lower level there is workshop space for various classes - pottery, painting, "make and take" workshops. Later in November (2017), I'll be attending the opening of the second floor, with more exhibit space and a large reception room. I am so looking forward to it!‬
