Seems like almost all of the petroglyph are at the very beginning of the canyon. About quarter Mike from the parking lot. Saw a big rattle snake about 5 feet away in our path on the rocks. Watch your step !

On our trip from Vegas to Laughlin, we could not find the road. Found it on the way back to Vegas. It’s a two mile drive on a washboard road, but our rental van handled it fine. Just drive slow! After hitting the parking area, you have a 1/4 mile walk to the site. It’s crunchy stones (like walking on beach sand). It’s well worth the trip. Both of us being 74, we could only view the close stuff(I understand there is much more if you’re young enough to do the hiking).

Did some hiking and a little climbing. Cool petroglyphs although we never saw the one in the picture. Nice quiet place

On our way back to Vegas after spending the night in Laughlin we decided to make a stop at Christmas Tree Pass and check out Grapevine Canyon, we're so glad we did, just incredible! Words and pictures can't truly do justice to the beauty of this area. 1st of all it's about 2 miles back off the main road following a dirt road so it's a bit slow going but not an issue if you have an SUV or a pickup. Once you get back to the parking area it's a short hike back into the canyon and it's well worth it to see the Petroglyphs and all. We had never seen anything like this before and glad we stopped by to see, just amazing! It's not a far drive from the strip so if you're in Vegas and want to try something new check this out, just incredible!

Really worth going out of the way to see. Only a few miles out of town and about a quarter mile hike.

We went to Grapevine Canyon the day after it had rained and we took a truck as the roads were pretty rough. There was room to park in the lot and washroom facilities there. The walk up to the actual petroglyphs is only a few minutes and once you get there it’s so amazing. The petroglyphs are everywhere. We followed some trails through the rocks and brush which I would not advise if you have mobility issues. But if you’re up for it, you can clamber along deeper into the trails to see all sorts of fascinating drawings. If you’re not up for that, there is still plenty to see. Due to the time of year, we were not worried about snakes and even saw a few small lizards.

Such a unique place. So many Petroglyphs to find and examine. Some climbs are easy to get an upclose and personal look. Very cool park and only 20 min from the casinos.

The sign says 4 wheel drive recommended but the road was easy to navigate. We have a Honda Pilot but there were several other small sedans. The petroglyphs were fascinating and are right there, although binoculars are helpful for some of the more distant ones. We also just enjoyed the geology of the canyon. The hike is short and the whole trip does not take much time. Of note, although the pictographs are close they have suffered little vandalism.

On our Christmas tree Pass trek we came out on the opposite end and pulled up into the Grapevine canyon rest area. We parked the car right by the washrooms which were clean and well kept. Around the bend you could see the grapevine canyon plaque with directions to the site and a brief history of the area. We walked through the mainly flat area with our kids and it was about 3/4 of a mile....so pretty easy. We did see a tarantula come out of a little bush that seemed to freak us out for a second and that was all part of the fun of the day. When we finally got to the petroglyphs it was super cool to see. We all just were in awe and stayed silent for a moment to let the spirituality sink in...lol awesome place

On my understanding the park ranger gets to be around the area but I didn't see any sign that prohibits not to park there during night time. Maybe you should try it and share the info with all of us.

I'm going in October, but coming by bus. I can see that I can Uber to get to the canyon, but will I have phone service to arrange and Uber back?

It would take about an hour to view the rock art. Obviously you can spend as much time as you would like walking through the Canyon. If you would like, Christmas Tree Pass is about 13 miles long. This road is not paved but relatively in good shape for a non 4x4 vehicle. Wildlife and nice scenery along the way.

We did a helicopter tour of the west rim Grand Canyon. That is also where the sky bridge is located. It's probably about an hour and half from Laughlin nv. It well worth the price and they have them going all day long. Hope that helps some. This was listed under grapevine Canyon though 😊

Would a 25ft RV make it down the rd and is there room to park and/or a turn around at the TH parking lot?

The road surface is packed sand. We've seen small motor homes in the parking lot, but not trailers. The parking lot doesn't have room for turnarounds, especially with other vehicles parked there.

Is the start of the walking trail to the petroglyphs marked so that it is easy to find as you are driving down Christmas Tree Pass Rd?

I still got turned around lol but eventually made my way to riverbed. it was exciting going down into the canyon to the other side to see those dramatic petroglyphs. for those not caring to make that trek, there are plenty on the trail side to see.
