I haven't there at this of the year. The city has over planted trees along walkway I don't if these trees change color. If they change this should be the time of the year.

Check the Reno Vistors Bureau. Rent snow shoes and hike chickedee ridges at Mt. Rose Meadows (about one hour up, take water) see a panoramic view of the Lake Tahoe.

There are parking options ranging from garges, nearby casinos to local side streets. Island Ave near Wingfield Park appeared to have plenty of quiet and free spots to park.

Looks like several people have already answered your question. I would walk south through the casinos and out the door of the ElDorado its a very quick walk 5 - 8 minutes along the old strip to the River. From there you can decide where you want to go - up or down River.

Yes, business will be open all year, sans the outdoor eating areas. More businesses and shops coming in all the time.

I agree with the 5 to 8 minute drive. Very nice on the weekends or early evening.

It runs east and west through downtown. Start at any of the downtown hotels just go south to the Riverwalk area. It is a rather short walk to most of the river area.

It's an open-air, paved walk along the river, so it's free. There are shops & restaurants nearby, so it's a city walk, but still very nice.
