The ice castles were pretty but the whole place was much smaller than I thought it would be. We were up that way so we went however, I am glad we didn't make a special trip to see them.

The ice castles were great.
Very crowded with people.

We went with another couple and without our kids who are grown so we didn't have the fun we would have had if they been with us. That being said, we had wanted to go for quite some time, and we were glad we had finally made it. They are definitely weather dependent both in the long term and the short term. If you are a true New Englander this won't matter. Complaints about mud & not being able to cancel are in my opinion and others should be a non-issue. I would say the best time slots to go are in the evenings to get the full effect of the lighting. We were there around dusk but it was still great. We took the sleigh ride which was cool although on the shorter side. It still brings back feeling of days gone by! We had a drink at the Igloo and met some awesome people standing around the fire. A great way to spend the afternoon.

I've wanted to see the ice castles for a while and was glad we were able to finally go. Because of the warm winter, we were nervous they were going to have to close (the night we went was upper 30s and it rained during the day). While the parking lot was super muddy, the ice castles themselves were great. Because it wasn't too cold that night, we were able to stay for about 3 hours. The kids loved the kid area the most, with the tunnels and igloos they could climb through as well as the small slides. We all enjoyed walking through the ice castles and going down the larger slides. At night, the castles were lit up different colors and were beautiful. We all enjoyed the sleigh ride. We also enjoyed the walk through the winter wonderland, which was lit up with pretty lights (adults liked this more than the kids - the kids just wanted to get back to the play area). We don't think this is something you have to go back to every year but we were really glad we visited and would recommend it to others.

I understand that this experience is weather dependent. However, it would be helpful to give people 48 hour notice to allow them to cancel lodging or other obligations rather than waiting the afternoon prior. Even the businesses in the area felt the affects of people being frustrated by the last minute cancellation by Ice Castles

If you value your car avoids this location at all costs. The parking lot is unpaved and full of 6+” mud. Almost every car including mine bottomed out several times. Imagine a parking lot full of a chocolate Wendy’s Frosty. There are also horses being led through it, so there’s probably a good amount of horse manure mixed in with that mud.

It’s was ok I liked it but it wasn’t what I expected I couldn’t tell what the sculptures but it was fun

A winter paradise! Go in the evening, if you can, to get the full icy experience. No negatives from us. Expect lots of people ... families, kids! Our little ones couldn't get enough!!

Amazing experience in NH. We had the 830 slot and stayed until 1030. Parking and admission were very smooth. Sleigh ride was great, my eight yr old who loves horses was over the moon. Make sure your boots have tread, my sperrys did not and I was sliding a-little. If you go into the tunnels where you have to crawl, make sure you’re wearing thick snow or ski pants….icy and kills your knees. In some areas it’s hard to walk, but to be expected, so be prepared. We saw people rolling their ankles. Gloves and good boots are a must. Tubing was so fast and so much fun. Got some beautiful pics. I was surprised at the lack of variety in the gift shop, only stuffed animals and apparel….unless we went too late? Will go again next year but probably earlier time slot.

The ice sculptures and structures are very beautiful. Clearly an engineering feat of winter beauty. Slides were fun, horses were cool. Wade their driver was nice. A few complaints:
1. Signage isn’t very clear. We wandered for a while looking for the slide and then again the exit.
2. One food truck for 100s maybe more people isn’t enough. P.S. why are there Dunkin signs but no Dunkin?
3. Tubing hill was fun but they were running only 2 of three lanes on president’s day weekend. If the kids could have rode more often we would have stayed…maybe that’s why they do it?
4. Quote pricey for an hour visit.
5. Very muddy conditions in the parking lots. Not a big deal, but plan accordingly.
6. Some places the ice is very compacted and slippery and others it’s so deep that you feel like you’re hiking through 8 inches of snow.
Overall—worth a stop if you have other things to do in the area and have the money/patience.

I generally use a walker or cane after back surgery but I also use walking sticks for walking on the beach or hiking! I want to come with my husband and family!
Would that be safe for me to use walking sticks? Is it slippery? Should we wear waterproof boots?

I don’t think it is a good idea. My mom also uses a walker and I would not take her. Not sure if you are Harry Potter fans, but if so look into the HP Forbidden Forest in NY. Flatter surface and super fun too!

Keep checking the site. The day we went was sold out, then I checked back and there were tickets available.
Once you get in, you can stay as long as you want, so standby tickets depend on people leaving.
Can someone please verify the actual physical address of the ice castles? I am finding 3 different addresses when I google. We are going tomorrow evening and I want to try to print out MapQuest directions in case of inclement weather effecting GPS. Thank you!

just google it but its listed at being a Route not a physical address they will send you directions
If we arrive late for our scheduled time due to traffic will we still be able to get in .

Is it worth getting the sleigh ride? Does the new enchanted forest walk and the sleigh ride explore different areas?

We purchased tickets on line before we got there. there is a sign but at night its very dark so you can find it we did. there no narration during the ride just some lights and a cold ride for twenty dollars

Once you arrive, does it take a long time to actually get into the ice castle?
Just wondering what the experience is like from the parking lot to the entrance. I bought a 4-4:30pm time slot, if I arrive at 4:30, will they still let me in?

Getting in is pretty fast. Only a short walk to the entrance Get there a little early though because parking might take a bit..spaces open up as people leave. And if you're going to be there after dark (when it's beautifully lit) dress WARM!!
