I skied there yesterday after not skiing there in a couple of years it was very impressive! The conditions were great especially compared to most of the other XC ski areas in the state. The staff is very friendly and the trail pass is very reasonable at $12.

Went XC for the very first time, and were SO glad we had Rob give us a 1 hr lesson on the basics of xc before we ventured out. Another couple in our group of 4 had taken a lesson before but Rob was WAY more informative, and we felt way confident about what we were doing after the lesson. After the lesson we went to the warming hut for lunch and were back out on the WELL GROOMED trails for the afternoon. Superb first experience. The rentals, lesson, and trail pass for 2 was only $76, which was a BARGAIN for the day.

This is a wonderful set of trails for XC skiing that has something for everyone. Wide variety of trails. Warming hut at the entrance of Clow road and Abenaki Lodge at the Abenaki trails. In summer you can walk the trails or bike them.

There are two sets of trails in town. Both sets of trails are maintained by the Nordic Ski Shop in Wolfeboro. They do a wonderful job of maintaining the trails whenever there is enough snow to do so. The Sewall Road trails consist of 30 km of trails, most of which are rated easy or moderate. The Abenaki trails are more challenging but are equally well maintained.

This was my family and I first experience cross country skiing, the trails were amazing, very nice as we were there in Jan., lots of snow and the trails were packed well. I will be returning.

We had a great time on three different occasions, to ski the many trails around Wolfeboro. The shop was easy to find, and they were very helpful getting us out on the well groomed trails.

Trails are groomed every day and the course has trails for skiers with a wide range of skills. You can spend a couple of hours on the trails without repeating the same trails.

This was our first time XC Skiing. We rented equipment from the Nordic Skier Shop in-town which was about 3 blocks away from the trailhead. We purchased an introductory lesson which was very informative. The lesson area was well groomed with a track.
After the lesson we were on our own. All the trails were well maintained and provided for 2-3hours of outdoor fun! The signs/map were clear and a majority of the trails were easy enough for beginners with only moderate elevation changes. This was a great winter-time activity!

I love this place and feel so lucky to live in a town with its own groomed cc-ski system. Get your ski pass downtown at the Nordic Skier shop and they can give you up to date trail information and where to go as there are a few different locations in town with groomed skiing. There is also an email list serve they can help you to join that sends out ski reports and grooming conditions after each snowfall. The Nordic Skier is a full cc-ski shop with everything you'll need, including ski rentals. They also offer a season pass that allows you to ski at will anytime there is snow. Why not go after work with your headlight? The Sewell Woods area has its own warming hut with changing room, hot drinks, and snacks. Over by the Abenaki ski hill there are more trails and you can use the ski lodge with bathrooms and food. There are 30 km of cc-skiing available between the combined locations. In the summer time Sewell Woods keeps the trails maintained for biking and running.
