We had an amazing visit to Lost River Gorge and Boulder Caves. Teh cost is worth the experience. This park is home to incredible views, cool caves to crawl. through, if you wish, and interesting information about the history of how the gorge was formed. Make it a must see in New Hampshire.

This was a great walk along easy boardwalks with a lot of stairs. The caves ranged from easy to challenging with great descriptions at the entrances so you could decide whether or not to try it. You need good shoes and sturdy clothes as some caves have you crawling. I wish we had brought our kids when they were younger. They would have loved the caves

This was one of the best excursions of our vacation ever! It was a beautiful and peaceful location and we got to be kids again crawling through caves and up and down ladders. There are a lot of stairs so I wore my knee supports and it helped with the stairs and crawling. Don’t forget to go through the covered bridge area walking trail too. It was worth every penny!

The views here were amazing! I loved that the trail entirely a wooden structure that is easy to walk on. The giant nest that you see in pictures is at the end of the walk.
I really liked that there was a description at the beginning of each cave. I was able to read about it to decide if I wanted to enter it or not. Every single cave had a bypass so you could decide if you wanted to enter or use the bypass. Some of them were intimidating (especially the lemon squeezer), so you could choose to pass it if you didn't want to go inside.
At the very end there were additional paths that were in the woods so that you could do some more exploring, if you want to.

Absolutely STUNNING! From the caves to the views, brilliant!
It’s a bit of a walk, however as a bloated slob myself I wasn’t winded and got into all the caves except the Lemon Squeeze!
Gorgeous and impeccably clean.
Will be back!
Ohh 7 year old was able to get through without asking for a shoulder ride and the caves kept him super interested!

A walk with 1000 steps up and down along the most beautiful gorge and bolders and cave and lots of water and small falls. Easy most of the way.

Don't skip this! It is worth every penny. It's beautiful and exciting to navigate the caves. We brought my 3 year old grandson and he had a blast as well. I highly recommend. My family enjoyed how breathtaking the views of the mountains and waterfalls were.

The gorge and caves were amazing!! The spot is truly breathtaking and particularly impressive after a good rain. We went on a cloudy day and it didn't take anything away from the experience. The caves are impressive and a lot of fun for adults and kids for those that are interested. You can opt in or out of each one individually. My wife only went into the biggest, easiest cave, and I went into every cave that was open and we both LOVED the experience! Also, SUPER impressed with the staff and how well everything is maintained!

Such an amazing experience to share with my granddaughter. Definitely a memory maker, a day we will never forget. Beautiful scenery and so many gorgeous views for photo ops.

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOST RIVER!!
Visited as a kid in the 80s, and I believe I enjoyed it even more as an adult. Can’t wait to take my grandchildren. While it is touristy, the owners have preserved the natural beauty and enhanced the atmosphere of wonder and discovery. The wooden boardwalk trail and cave ladders are impressively designed - lots of steps but also lots of opportunities to take a break if one is not fit - it’s a self-paced adventure. The boardwalks allow accessibility to those who may not be able to “hike.” Some of the caves are claustrophobic but if you can suck it up, it’s totally worth it!!

I was wondering, even though all these NH areas have people visiting frequently, if I need to be concerned with bears? I am curious about each of them, such as Diana's Baths, the Gorge, etc, etc. Ty for a reply

What is the difficulty level of the stairs? Are they steep? How many at a time_?

My wife and I are in mid and late 50's and I have bone spurs that makes walking painful, but we were both easily able to handle these stairs.

Do you have to go through the caves to stay on

No you do not have to explore the caves. There is a wooden platform that follows the trail. The loop is approximately 0.6 miles long. We spent about 2 hours exploring the trail. Wear comfortable shoes/sneakers.
