We had a nice time window shopping. The mall wasn't overwhelming, it's just the right size to walk around. Parking was $6 for 3 hours @ meter. We enjoyed the art gallery store & shopping at the soap shop.

If you like shopping, this is the place for you. You may want to skip lunch before going, as there are a number of shops that offer samples that you WILL want to try (cheese, jerky, peanut butter, etc.). Do not miss the shops along the exterior, such as the peanut butter company!

Kicked off the mall because we had a small dog - who was in a stroller. Absolutely ridiculous. I was in Copenhagen Denmark several weeks ago. Dogs were allowed everywhere. Including the most gorgeous castle gardens and grounds that Cape Lay could ever hope to emulate. If individuals are not handling their dogs properly then ticket them. Same as people. We found a condo we ate interested in purchasing in Cape May but this gives us pause. We are well traveled to many beautiful places and never saw anything so restrictive.

Great time of year to visit Cape May. Even with a little rain we were able to enjoy our time there. The Ugly Mug never disappoints.

We spent a lot of $ in what apparently was dog friendly shops and restaurants! Some even handed out dog cookies and had dog water bowels! Then we were asked to leave Washington st Mall because no dogs allowed! There was a sign but we missed it!
Traveling 3 years now in our RV and this is the first time kicked off a public walkway!
I do respect established shops and restaurants that don’t allow dogs but public walkways?

Still a vibrant fun atmosphere with no vacant stores and a nice mix of stores. It has some restaurants, ice cream stores, novelty shops, a bakery, an art store, clothing shops, a lingerie shop. a toy store, an Irish bar, a fudge factory and a five and dime. Many benches to sit which was appreciated. A local police officer came up to me politely to enforce the no dogs rule but said "have a nice day" when I informed him that it was a support animal. A directory would be a nice addition for those seeking a specific store. There were plenty of flowers which were well attended. The area was clean though I did not see any maintenance personnel. Compares to other downtown malls that I have visited.

This looks nice from the outside. But the shops are touristy, with lots of overpriced souvenirs, t shirts, and junk. It used to have more unique stores.

Me and my fiancee, stop by here to shop. The stores were good and the people were friendly and respectful. Me and my fiancee bought magets there.

Great place to stroll the stores, or just eat. Dog friendly as well. My favorite store is The Cotton Company. A Cape May staple.

If you love to shop, you'll enjoy strolling the mall. Admittedly, I'm not a big shopper so a quick walk through the mall is enough for me.

You might want to check some of the shops across from the Washington Street Mall, near the Acme market. Another option is the shop at Sunset Beach, near the concrete ship. Good luck!

Are there parking garages/lots near Washington Street mall or is it street parking only?

Definitely no parking garages. There are parking lots near the mall and a few blocks away. If it's nice weather, it's really no hardship. It's good to go @ the start of the day, to find decent parking. This last time, we just walked from our hotel, but I seem to recall some places do have parking meters.
