Beautiful farm but sadly now just a cash grab. When you say that, the owners or their people get on social media and rattle off other activities include din thr ticket... Like. A hayride, corn maze, etc. What if yiu jsut want to pick fruit? And since when is walking thru a corn maze or raking a hayride grounds for jacking up ticket oriceses sky high?
This once great farm experience has turned their farm into a corporate Disney wannabe cahs grab.

It was a fun and beautiful experience BUT there were many failures because of the disorganized nature of the farm. Overall, I would return, on a weekday, with a cart and a map, now that I know how everything works and enjoyed the scenery and delicious apples.
Firstly, it is too overcrowded on the weekends with ridiculously long lines for the bathrooms AND the handwashing station had no water and wasn't working; also, the lines for food were insanely long... now, most of that isn't the fault of management but I'll include it here so others can be aware of it.
The parking situation on weekends is awful... be prepared to walk a long while or get there incredibly early to avoid the crowding.
Secondly, when we got our tickets for PYO, we weren't given a map of the place and weren't even told a map existed; they don't even tell you where to go after you check-in.
We also weren't aware that (first come first serve) carts were available for our boxes and PYO fruits/veggies; we got a 10lb and 20lb box, the 20lb box was incredibly heavy to carry around in your arms throughout the miles of steep terrain. Even to just get to the apple picking spots, it's several miles worth, and there are not enough hay wagons in those areas to just get one to the next location. The lines to get on the hay wagons were exceptionally long as well. Bring plenty of water and wear good shoes, and if it's not winter prepare to sweat, it's a big hike to get anywhere.
Additionally, if you have any questions while picking or get lost at all, there won't be any workers available to help you. Prepare to ask another visitor any questions and pray they know more than you.
Lastly, I saw many people with only a small bag for apples and their picks, and I'd warn you that this is definitely not big enough for the vast amount of long fields of apples; I think the 10lb box was a nice size (included photo for reference), but if you can get a cart then the 20lb is good if you want a good variety of many different apples and veggies. If you go in October, don't expect any good veggies besides apples, beets, eggplants, and of course pumpkins... everything else was slim pickings despite the website saying that there were excellent conditions for them.
As a side note, you're not allowed to eat the apples and then throw them on the ground without paying for them. This is more a complaint against fellow visitors, who I saw damaging the trees and going against the precise rules. However, that's only because it's so easy, there's absolutely no supervision or help, so it's only the fault of farm management.
Of the apple varieties, the Crimson Apples, Jonagold, and Golden Delicious looked and tasted the best.

What a beautiful place with plenty to do. Food, music, hayride, petting zoo.
Unfortunately there are two big negatives when comparing it to other farms…. absolutely rude security exiting the apple picking area of the farm. Families with kids have strollers. Did not appreciate his attitude as my sister struggled moving the stroller in gravel and him in a rude tone staging we were holding up people. Telling her she should put bigger wheels on the stroller. Maybe with all the money this place makes they should pave the exit. Surprised on how small of bags they give with refusal admission tickets. $28 a ticket and approximately holds 8 apples?????? Do they know how many apples go to waste??

Way overpriced ! I paid $80 for large container and it’s only good for 1 person . Thought it’s for family of four . I have to pay $74 and change today 10/9/22 for 2 more people and was given small plastic bag that can fill 6 small apples or 4 big ones . Deeply regretted driving here for apples that are not even organic . Place is overcrowded and and you will spend more time falling in line for the restroom , to pay at the cashier , to wait for your ride . Will never come back .

They doubled their price of admission. Used to be two people and one box for a little over $40. Today, it was $80. Everything else was extra. We used to come here every year but now we’ll have to find a new place.

The setting is gorgeous. BUT - 32$ for a small baggie of apples /veggies .
And they charge for pumpkins !
There are plenty of better (and less expensive ) apple picking spots.

We visited on a weekday so not a huge crowd like there often is on the weekend. Pleasurable experience to wander around. Nice selection of items in the market/store, but overpriced

Affordable tickets get you onto a tractor-pulled wagon for a ride around the orchard with a stop by a corn maze, then a pumpkin patch and back to the festivities. What makes it different and cool is the darkness, which makes a flashlight a must for the maze. Besides the above, cold and hot (although with a hint of coffee taste) apple cider is included for the evening. Roasted sweet corn is sold at $3.99, ice cream is fairly priced, but lacks in quality. We've tasted maple/appple swirl soft served and it was loaded with ice pieces. Must admit, I might be biased after tasting a maple creemee in Vermont. 2 fire pits where going for the evening and marshmallows were for sale at the counter. Avoid wearing synthetic clothing around the fire, at times it was impressively large with a lot of potential for holes in your garments from the flying hot ash. The store was still open and live entertainment was filling air with country vibes. Main downsides: most workers were unable to provide any directions due to the language barrier and the food selection was, mildly put, limited. Some smoked meats would've gone well with the roasted corn. I didn't visit the wine tasting area, but it looked inviting. One of the cute surprises was the enclosure with some horses, donkeys and sheep who can feed and pet. Might go back to pick some sunflowers, but the entry fee for picking is much higher than the Harvest Moon Hayride so I'm on a fence about that...unless I leave the kids at home! Overall, we al enjoyed the farm!

Instead of going all the way through Chester to the large and busy Alstede Farm to get our fruit , corn and veggies we stopped by the Alstede Farm Stand on the other side of Chester Rte 24 (Hwy 510) toward Mendham. It’s a nice small seasonal farm stand and great for those who don’t like crowds. Of course the kids will want to go to the main Alstede Farm to pick their own peaches and apples or see the animals. Since we’re older we prefer going to this Alstede Farm Stand which is a lot easier.

What are rip off!! We went to PYO on Friday 8/6 with group 3 and get charged $69.28, I asked them why we got charged extra $15 compare their online price? they told me the $15 is the labor fee to sell 3 tickets! I spoke with Kyle and explained to him that nobody ever mentioned that extra charge to us before, if i I knew that I would purchased the tickets online myself. He told me that dependent on who sell me the ticket, not all their employee knew that, they assuming all their customer aware of that already, there is nothing they can do about even they know I am really really upset! I spend over 10 min on the phone with him, he did not even apologize or try to comfort me. What a horrible day!!! This is the worst customer service I ever had, your company made mistake and you blamed on your customer? I will never visit this farm again and will share my horrible experience to the people I know, absolutely not recommend this place to anyone!

Hi were planning a trip to the farm and read on one of your recent reviews that the admission cost would go towards the amount we pick it we enter between 9-11, is that accurate? I also would love for my kids to have a chance to hold the bunnies, does your farm allow to do so?

Good Morning Dina,
Thanks for your question and yes, the full price of farm admission is applied towards your PYO purchases Mondays through Thursdays for entrance that occurs between 9 am and 11 am. Weekdays are a great way to enjoy our great farm in a much more intimate manner. Our farm admission includes access to our PYO areas, FREE haywagon rides, access to our evergreen maze and more. Our sunflower maze will open this weekend and that too is included in farm admission. We also have plenty of other animals to visit with and kids activities to enjoy. Please note, that while you may be able to pet our friendly animals, you cannot hold them. (Easter tours are a special time when kids can have more personal contact with our animals.) Please let me know if I can be of any other assistance to you. Feel free to call at 908-879-7189 at any time. We look forward to seeing you soon.
Kind Regards,
Farmer Kurt
