‪The paper maps at the entrance help you planning the hike . This time we hiked all the trails except for the yellow. The blue trail gives most access and opportunity to view the Rancocas creek itself. The banks are very muddy and slippery so be careful . The hiking and biking trails are blazed.‬

‪There are a couple of entrances to this park. One of them leads via Rancocas Rd to a long path with several parking areas. This car accessible way leads towards the Creek. The Park itself is situated on an peninsula where Rancocas Creek divides into two branches cradling the peninsula. From Rancocas Road one can drive into this part of the Park.
The entrance we used this time was on Deacon Rd. The parking lot here is smaller but most visitors are walkers from the neighborhood.
We walked the blue trail to the tip of the peninsula and along first the North and then South branch of Rancocas Creek. We subsequently backtracked it. One can also use the red connector trail to go back to the parking lot or walk the road to the remaining portion of the blue trail in order to go back to the Deacon parking lot.
The park is beautiful especially this time of the year with colorful leaves and autumn nature.
Rancocas State Park does not have a formal picnic area or restrooms. For that one can drive to the nearby Long Bridge Park.‬

‪If you enjoy a deeply rutted gravel road, poorly maintained trails, a lack of directional signage anywhere, no benches and no restroom facilities, this is your place! For a state park, I would expect all of the above-mentioned to be provided. Inexcusable!‬

‪We went on a small hike and drove around the park. It is very relaxing even though it is so close to a bustling highway. I don’t hear a thing. I highly recommend going on a Sunday‬

‪Not much parking available. No maps to take with you. Some areas, particularly where people have been fishing, have a bit of trash. Good for walking or mountain biking. No picnic areas. No bathrooms. Nice views and turtles and deer can be viewed.‬

‪The actual spelling is Rancocas.....After spending time at the Rancocas Nature Center which is part of Rancocas State Park a couple of weeks ago, yesterday we decided to go back and explore trails outside the nature center area itself, and we were glad we did!

The address shown for this site is an area where cars can park. No restroom. It joins up with the white trail and is about half a mile down the road from the nature center.

We once again parked at the Rancocas Nature Center, where there is a bathroom, and walked over to the bridge separating the nature center area from another portion of the state park. Trail signs were very good, which was a good thing, since the trails were very much covered with leaves!

We did see a few other hikers/couples walking dogs/father walking with kids, but for the most part, we had the place to ourselves. Very peaceful environment! Throughout the various trails including white, yellow, green (we think named green for all the holly trees on it), and brown, we saw a variety of sights, from meadows to pine forests to massive holly trees and then the Rancocas Creek itself. Our hike was a little over four miles. There was not much elevation to the trails.

I took 83 pictures....there were just so many starkly beautiful sights on a December afternoon.

There is a whole other section of Rancocas State Park that is totally separate from this section. We will go back and try the trails on that section another time.‬

‪I almost don't want to leave a review bc I don't want this place to become too popular! I walk my dog there often and we love it...in the middle of the hustle and bustle, it's so tranquil and beautiful and natural. Long trails enough for both dog and I to get exercise. Don't tell anyone about it! :)‬

‪Rancocas State Park is strikingly beautiful, has no entrance fee and offers good hiking trails well marked and organized. The most scenic hikes are along the North Branch of the Rancocas Creek. Entrance at the end of Deacon Road is the favorite for the bicycle riders. The best organized are Blue, Red, Green and Orange Trails. The loop is 4.44 Miles. You can combine the trails for longer walks and rides. It seems to be a favorite place for runners as well. Rancocas Nature center organizes summer camps, nature walks and other programs. Fishing is allowed and there is canoe and fishing access to the Rancocas Creek. Equestrian Trails are also popular. The forest is beautiful, landscape is interesting. It is really worth the trip. You are sure to have a lot of fun. Rancocas State Park - Hainesport can be accessed via Deacon Road or Rancocas Avenue Entrances.‬
