Great arena for a hockey game. Seats are comfortable and views are good. Staff hold patrons until stoppage in play (not every arena does). Good food and drink options. Easy in and easy out. Within walking distance of train station so easy commute fromNew York City.

I knew arriving to this K-Pop concert that it was going to be chaos & bedlam because it was raining. Upon arrival there was no staff directing concert goers for general admission or VIP, etc. Outside of the venue there were over 6,000 people gathered and unsure of how to get in, many concert goers were lined up in lines that didn't go anywhere. We waited in line for over 30 minutes and my daughter finally went and asked a staff member if the doors were open and if so where we could proceed to get inside out of the pouring rain. She was told verbatim by the staff member to cut in line at a particular door that we were near and I looked at him and said are you sure we're supposed to cut in line and he said yes cut in line right there. He also said he didn't have any idea where the line started. We had to push our way through and it was suffocating, there were mother's with babies, small children and elderly. Somebody really could have gotten hurt and I saw on TikTok that there were people who were actually thrown out because there was no direction and people were pushing and shoving. When we finally got into the door my daughter was told that she had to remove her belt because it had a chain on it. The worst part about it is as soon as we entered Prudential Center there were so many other people wearing belts with chains. There was no consistency with the staff they were extremely rude and nasty and weren't helpful at all. Because of this disorganization the artist had to start the show 30 minutes late.. The only positives were the seats were extremely comfortable, the concert goers were very friendly and the facility itself was nice... Prudential Center Management needs to take a deeper look at how employees are treating customers that are spending a lot of money to attend events at this facility and being treated so poorly. I want to reiterate that someone really could have been hurt very badly while waiting in line in the pouring rain for this event. There were a lot of people walking around selling unlicensed merchandise and being very pushy and aggressive. Seeing the artist was so worth it however the employees left little to be desired.

Came here to see the John Mayer solo show in March — didn’t have any problems with getting in / waiting in line as other people had. I definitely prefer venues like MSG and UBS to Prudential, but this is still a solid concert venue. Would also note that the grilled chicken sandwich I had here was excellent and definitely one of the best food options I’ve had at a concert / sporting venue recently.

Saw Springsteen April 14, 2023. Sat in mezzanine. Bruce was amazing! The sound was so horrible!! It was a combination of terrible things. It sounded at times muffled, sometimes squelchy, often painfully loud. It was like you could hear some elements louder than others. I knew all the songs, so I sang along, but you could not make out the words Bruce was singing. I had a friend that only knew a few and couldn't make out what any of the lyrics were. It reminded me of the muffled sound when you are standing outside a concert. You hear the beat, but you can't make out anything clearly. That was a little like that, only we were sitting inside the venue and while it was muffled, it was also too loud. At times we winced from the pain and had to put our fingers in our ears it was so bad. It was our 4th concert recently, and we had no issues at other venues (Madison Square Garden and Metlife). But still, I thought perhaps it was something with us since I didn't see any complaints online. Days later I ran into someone who went to the same concert and sat in the mezzanine (different section) and I asked how the sound was for them. They experienced the exact same thing. They said it was physically painful to their ears at times and it was muffled. I thought perhaps it was Bruce's team that caused the terrible sound. I couldn't imagine that a venue wouldn't know about its own sound issues. However, more searching online found other complaints about the same issue at previous concerts revealing that it is likely the venue's sound system. I have been to the Prudential Center once before for a concert, but was on the floor. I recall the sound being fine, I think it is just areas of the venue that have a problem. Worst concert experience I have ever had, despite loving the performance by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. I am looking forward to seeing him in August at MetLife. I know it will be better! I dont' think I will ever go back to the Prudential Center.
(other note: we were lucky to get in to the venue quickly, but we got to the venue very early, before 6pm and waited by the doors. Doors opened at 6:30 for a 7:30 show. That was way too late. People were stuck in line until after 8. I only saw ONE employee outside the venue to guide/organize people and that was for the general admission line) If you are going to open the doors so late for a show, you need organizers because everyone has to come at the same time and it will create a mob. They are asking for an injury to occur)

excellent arena, when you eventually get in. i don't know what it's like for hockey games but for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street band organisation didn't seem to be on the menu. Terrible experience trying to get in. not enough doors, no orderly queues. Having said that, I managed to manoeuvre myself to the front and made sure I got in on time for the concert. Once inside, the arena itself is excellent. Spacious concourse, easy to find your seat which was very comfortable.

This is the worst venue in the state of NJ. Avoid it at all costs. Went with my family to see springsteen in concert, there was no organization whatsoever outside to direct fans on lines. They were so understaffed it took hours to get inside. Hundreds of us missed the first few songs. The venue created a dangerous situation for fans outside, multiple people passed out standing in the heat, employees had no sense of urgency. Horrible. Will never be back and they should be ashamed.

The Prudential Center is a typical hockey arena. Same seating plans, same overpriced food and drink items. Nothing special about it. What was absolutely appalling was trying to get into the venue to see Bruce Springsteen on April 14. The show was scheduled for 7:30 and we were there at 6:30. It appears there are 2 entrances to get in with 3 doors each. We were at the Edison Place entrance and it was shocking the amount of people trying to get in. Where is the line? None. Just everyone crowding around pushing their way forward. Everyone coming from different directions and joining the mob. Some people trying to get through to get to the Box Office entrance. Good luck with that. No one knew what was happening. Glass bottles were falling on the concrete, one man was extremely angry and yelling at a woman for ? trying to budge in? But there’s no line! Thankfully no fight broke out. I can see how people getting crushed to death at sporting events happens. You couldn’t move!
Once we got to the door, we quickly passed through security and had our tickets scanned. It was now 7:47. Luckily the show hadn’t started but when it did shortly after, I’m sure there were still many fans stuck in the crowd outside waiting to get in.
How is it possible for the Pru to allow this to happen? Not only is it frustrating and confusing, it’s downright dangerous. I, and all those I talked to while waiting outside, have never seen anything like this at any other stadium or arena or concert venue. I will never, ever go to the Prudential Center for a concert again.

My daughter and I went to a Devil’s game at the Prudential Center as part of my endeavor to see every NHL team at their arena. First off, if you’re from out of town, we found using Amtrak at Newark Penn Station to be very convenient. We also stayed at the Hilton inside Penn station just off the skywalk which we found to be extremely safe since we didn’t have to walk outside the station at all. The path to the prudential center from Penn station is as follows: once you depart the train, take the elevator up to “ML” Main Level. Go up one set of escalators by the Dunkin’ Donuts and just keep walking straight to “Gateway 4” building that will pop you right out by Prudential. The Hilton you will run into along the way. But anyway, back to prudential.
We had a hotdog that was just sitting in a heater, so naturally the bun was nothing but mush, so I don’t recommend that. Right next to their main “Devil’s Den” store they have this booth that will customize a hockey card of yourself with a position and number - absolutely free! My daughter loved that! After you complete that, they will give you a 25% off voucher for ANY jersey you may want to purchase. A pretty decent deal.
The only reason I took a star off was the workers next to the Devil’s Den that printed out the cards were completely clueless as to where the Devil’s Den was! On the jersey voucher it said 25% off any jersey at Devil’s Den. Great! So naturally, if you’ve never been somewhere the next question will be - where is Devil’s Den? They had no idea, and it was only about 20 feet away!
Next, if you are in the 200s section, best to use the escalators unless you like a good workout before the game. Signage was poor to tell fans where to go for higher levels, but the lady manning the stairs told me to “just keep going up.” The seats are pretty tight together and uncomfortable, but they are cheap tickets too. The biggest thing I had a problem with was that during the play, they have these ridiculous costumed character with big heads stand in the section below that will block your view of the goal on the near side. And if it’s not them, the usher will likely block your view. We were in section 216, row 6, seats 3 and 4. They should sell those seats as partial views with all the hindered views.
As for parking around the arena, it seemed as though there were many places around the arena to do so. Using the skywalk though we found to be an extremely convenient and safe alternative to walking the streets of the city. I also did buy one of the classic red DEVIL’s jersey and was pleasantly surprised to see my size with a 3XL. It was $107 with the 25% off. They have this super smart and convenient rack that spins around from the ceiling to the ground with sizes going from smallest to largest…very smart.

We had tickets for trans Siberia orchestra on December 27th, 2022. What a nice area. Security regulations were followed and went quickly. Staff very helpful. Clean facilities. Parking is available close by center with extra fee. Restaurants and bars with walking distance. To the show absolutely amazing. Plenty of technology of lasers and smoke. Great light shows with a Christmas feel. Definitely worth it. If you are hockey fans. NJ Devils play here.

First time watching ice hockey here and I had the best time! The staff were really helpful finding our seats, loads of food and drink options. And even though we were sat quite high up the view and atmosphere were great!

Sorry I don't have any information on your concert. Good Luck.
My daughter is 14 years old and wants to go to the Blackpink concert, do I need to sign an authorization for her to enter alone? or what should i do?

I'm planning on going to see Sebastain Manalfusco on dec 26th. The venue chart indicates a round stage. Does that mean it's a revolving stage? I want to spend no more than $300 a ticket. what are the best seats at that price? I don't want to look at his butt 1/2 the time!
Thanks for your help!

Hi, I am considering going to a NJD game. I have seen tickets on stub hub for under $20 in the top tier in the corner which I reckon would be good views, I know the subway safe. Is there any nightlife for after the game? Do people go into local bars after or do people tend to just go? Any recommendations for the day of the game are appreciated!
Thanks!

If you like Barbecue visit Dinosaur Bar-B-Que at 224 Market St, Newark New Jersey about 3.5 miles from the Prudential Center.
Otherwise, in the Prudential Center at Suite Level 1, the Rock Bar and Grill is opened 2 hours before every New Jersey Devils games for info and reservation call them at 19737576990.
Hello, I have another quick question about Prudential. I’m visting from another state, so I don’t know alot the area. For (music) concerts, is Section 210, or the upper section in general, a good spot? Thanks!

I'm pretty sure if you go to The Prudential site, they will have a seating chart so you can see exactly where you are sitting.
I'm coming to the arena from New York (W 57th Street). Can I just take the subway there?

You cannot take the NYC subway to Newark, NJ. You can however take the PATH train from Penn Station New York to get to Newark Penn Station.
